Now… curious about the meaning behind the HHW logo? It was created by the uber talented, creative genius Lera Street.
The Holistic Haven logo is a visual invocation of safety, joy, and a sacred return to the body.
At the center is a magnolia – one of the oldest flowering plants on Earth and a living remembrance of my Mississippi Gulf Coast roots. The magnolia is also tattooed on my arm within my owl piece, a reflection of how Owl Eye Somatics and Holistic Haven are deeply embodied in and on me.
The magnolia represents ancestral wisdom, feminine strength, and dignified, sensuous beauty. It reminds us that softness and resilience are not opposites. That pleasure and power can coexist. That opening is wisdom.
Within the heart of the flower is a design inspired by the Zia Sun – symbolizing balance, harmony, and life’s sacred cycles. Placed at the center of the magnolia, it honors the body as a source of intuition, creativity, aliveness, and play. Joy and healing are not linear destinations – they are rhythms. Sacred returns.
In some variations, the flower is gently cradled by organic forms that resemble both branches and open hands – reaching upward to the universe and rooting downward into Mother Earth.
They represent being held. Held by nature. Held by community. Held by something greater.
Because when the body feels safe, it softens. And when it softens, healing becomes nourishment. Connection. Pleasure woven into everyday life.
And the colors – bold reds and radiant yellows – were chosen with intention. At first, I thought I wanted earthy tones – the muted desert palettes often associated with New Mexico. They felt grounded. Sensible. Expected.
But when I saw them together my body contracted. An undeniable tightening in my chest. As a somatic practitioner, I’ve learned to trust those cues. The body speaks before the mind does.
I realized those colors were connected to heavier chapters of my life – seasons of survival and holding it all together. It was a powerful reminder that even color carries memory. So I listened.
The bright palette felt alive. Expansive. Joyful. Holistic Haven chose brightness on purpose.
Together, these elements express the essence of Holistic Haven: A sanctuary where the body is supported, joy is welcomed, and healing feels grounded, playful, vibrant, and alive. A place to remember yourself. A place to soften. A place to come home.
And it feels like divine timing as we enter the Fire Horse year – bold, radiant, alive.
