You give so much to everyone else that you’ve forgotten what it feels like to have energy left over for yourself.
We’ve all been told that taking time for ourselves is selfish. But self-care isn’t selfish, it’s a requirement! 😮
When we’re running on empty, our stress rises, our patience drops, and our energy disappears. We can’t sustain giving from an empty tank — it’s just biology, not weakness.
But when we refill your cup with rest, movement, or even 5-10 minutes of peace and quiet — we show up as our best selves for everyone else too.
Research shows that when caregivers and parents take care of their own health, EVERYONE around them benefits.
So maybe the most selfless thing you can do this week... is take care of yourself first. Less stress, more energy, better relationships.
