It is wonderful to see the different types of breastfeeding support, but important to notice the difference in what is offered.

Today we celebrate IBCLC Day!

Founded in 1985 with early support from La Leche League International, the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE) set the global standard for lactation consultants. Today, IBCLCs continue to provide expert, evidence-based lactation care to families around the world.

IBCLCs:

✅ Mentor peer counselors
✅ Strengthen workforce stability
✅ Contribute to measurable maternal and infant health outcomes

As WIC modernizes and works to strengthen participation and retention, IBCLCs are not optional- they are essential.
