Poole Funeral Home Hosts Community Barbecue Honoring First Responders on National First Responders Day

Woodstock, GA – Poole Funeral Home is proud to announce its First Responders Barbecue in celebration of National First Responders Day, taking place on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at its Woodstock location, 1970 Eagle Drive, Woodstock, GA 30189.

Brian Poole, Owner and Funeral Director, will personally be serving up a hearty barbecue lunch to all first responders as a token of appreciation for their service, sacrifice, and continued commitment to the safety of our community.

“This is a day to honor the everyday heroes among us,” said Brian Poole. “We are opening our doors and hearts to give thanks in the best way we know how—through fellowship, food, and community.”

Canton Police Investigate Fatality Accident on Riverstone Parkway at I-575 South Bound on ramp.

Canton, GA — The Canton Police Department has completed its initial response to a fatality accident on Riverstone Parkway at Interstate 575 South Bound on ramp. The accident, which involved a tractor-trailer and an SUV, occurred earlier today, resulting in one confirmed fatality.

Emergency responders, including police officers, paramedics, and fire personnel, were on the scene shortly after the incident. The interstate was temporarily closed to allow for investigation and clearance of the wreckage.

"We have now cleared the scene, and the roadway is back open," said Chief Ferrell of the Canton Police Department. "However, our investigation into the cause of the accident is still ongoing. Our thoughts remain with the family of the victim, and we appreciate the public's patience as we continue to look into the circumstances surrounding this tragic event."

The Canton Police Department is urging anyone with information about the incident to contact the Special Operations Division with the Canton Police Department at 770-720-4883.
