Today we celebrated Michigan’s Birthday 🎉💙
Michigan officially became a state on January 26, 1837, becoming the 26th state and we honored it by celebrating everything that makes our state so incredible.

From Coney Island chili dogs 🌭 to Traverse City cherry ice cream 🍒🍦, residents enjoyed some true Michigan classics. We also sampled favorites like Faygo pop, Better Made chips, and locally made popcorn all proudly made right here in Michigan.

Michigan truly put the world on wheels 🚗 and continues to be a state of creation, innovation, and grit. We are so blessed to call the Great Lakes State home and to celebrate its rich history, culture, and impact on the world.

✨ Our First Culinary Showcase & Taste Test Was a Hit! ✨

Today we hosted our very first Culinary Showcase and Taste Test, and it was such a fun and meaningful experience for our residents!

Our amazing Chef Natasha whipped up delicious banana lentil muffins a healthier option for everyone to enjoy and our residents had the chance to watch, taste, and ask questions along the way. It was wonderful to see so much curiosity, engagement, and excitement around trying something new together.

This is something we’re excited to continue doing every month, giving our residents the opportunity to explore new recipes, learn more about what they’re eating, and even help influence what makes it onto our menu. 💛👩‍🍳

We’re excited to share something new we’re starting here at StoryPoint Canton Each month we’ll be highlighting one of our amazing residents on our page so you can get to know the wonderful people who make our community so special 💙

Our January Resident Spotlight is Pat

Pat was born and raised in Chicago and made Michigan her home in the mid 1980s She spent many years working in the fast food industry and is known for her strong work ethic and dedication 👏

Pat was married to her husband Stirling and is the oldest of six siblings She loves sports especially the Detroit Red Wings, Tigers and Lions though she still has a soft spot for her Chicago teams too 🏒⚾🏈

We’re so thankful to have Pat as part of our community and love celebrating everything that makes her so special ✨💐

Our New Year’s Happy Hour was a huge hit! Between a delicious charcuterie board from our amazing chef, Motown classics, and the best company, it was such a joyful way to celebrate together. We even shared our hopes and predictions for what we think 2026 will bring filling the room with laughter, connection, and so much heart. ❤️
