Last week, we celebrated our August babies with a party! We had Jay Secrest come in to visit and celebrate with our residents. Everyone loves when Jay comes to visit, and he does a great job getting everyone singing and dancing along. Happy belated birthday to all of our August babies!

Recently, we had a new entertainer visit, Larry Alltop! Larry told stories with each song and made the residents smile and laugh. They were shocked to find out Larry is in his 80’s and still entertaining so well! Everyone loved having Larry visit, and we hope to have him back soon.

Last week, we had two Wizard of Oz themed days! Residents got to decorate their own “Over the Rainbow” cupcakes. Of course, we had to watch the classic movie, which was very nostalgic for the residents. We had a great time traveling down the yellow brick road! 🌈💚

Meet our July Employee of the Month… Amber!

Amber Miller is our receptionist and also helps out in activities. During her 2 years as a part of our team, Amber has enjoyed building relationships with the residents and watching them succeed. Her motivation to come to work every day is being able to be a part of a great team and work environment. When asked what advice she would give to new employees joining the team, Amber stated, “Smile. You never know if someone’s having a rough day. Your smile could change someone’s day.

Amber has a dog and a cat. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her nieces and nephew, reading, and enjoying the outdoors. A fun fact about Amber is that her favorite food is Mexican!

We are so thankful to have Amber as a part of our team, and we can’t wait to see what her future has in store for her. Congratulations, Amber! 💙

A big thank you to the Akron Zoo for visiting our Altercare Cuyahoga Falls residents and bringing some zoo fun to the facility!

Last weekend, we had a special visit from Jackson Polar Pups! They brought Hank for some pet therapy, and the residents absolutely loved it. Puppy snuggles make everything better! 🐾

A few weeks ago, we had a special visit from Terry Pacelli who came in to entertain the residents. Terry came for the monthly Birthday celebration and the residents really enjoyed hearing music from the 70’s. We can’t wait to have Terry back soon! 🎵

On Saturday, we celebrated Flag Day. Our residents took some time to make a flag that we hung in our dining room to honor the veterans in our building. This was a fun activity for the residents and turned out beautiful!

Happy belated Father’s Day! To celebrate this special day, we hosted a “Donuts for Dad” event. Family and friends visited the facility and enjoyed a sweet treat while spending time with their loved ones. 💙🍩

Prior to Mother’s Day, we had a special treat for our ladies. Willow, an adorable 4-year-old, visited to treat the ladies to a spa day. They enjoyed facials, manicures, under eye treatments, and more! This made the residents feel so special and relaxed for Mother’s Day.

Last week, our facility celebrated National Skilled Nursing Care Week! To wrap up our week, residents played balloon volleyball on Friday. This activity is a resident favorite and we always have a lot of fun!
