Last weekend, we had a special visit from Jackson Polar Pups! They brought Hank for some pet therapy, and the residents absolutely loved it. Puppy snuggles make everything better! 🐾

A few weeks ago, we had a special visit from Terry Pacelli who came in to entertain the residents. Terry came for the monthly Birthday celebration and the residents really enjoyed hearing music from the 70’s. We can’t wait to have Terry back soon! 🎵

Meet our May Employee of the Month… Zack!

Zack Riegler, Maintenance Coordinator, has only been a part of our Altercare team for three months. Although his time with us has been short, he has made a huge impact. Zack’s favorite part of his job is being able to talk to the residents and help them when needed. Professionally, Zack is inspired by others who he has worked with that have been in the professions for a long time. Their experience, attitude, and work ethic are something that Zack respects and wants to live up to. His mom, who is the hardest working person he knows, is also an inspiration to him. “She is always doing whatever it takes for her family, never complaining, and showing up with strength and commitment every day. Her work ethic and resilience are what I try to bring into my own career.”

Zack has a girlfriend, Molly, and two cats. In his free time, he likes to spend time outdoors, go fishing, grilling out, and going swimming. A fun fact about Zack is that he likes to garden.

“I chose Altercare because it offered real opportunities to grow my skills and take on more responsibility. I wanted a place where hard work gets noticed and rewarded. Which by receiving this honorable award, instills my decision to work for this company. I also wanted to challenge myself by taking on a new position as a manager.”

On Saturday, we celebrated Flag Day. Our residents took some time to make a flag that we hung in our dining room to honor the veterans in our building. This was a fun activity for the residents and turned out beautiful!

Happy belated Father’s Day! To celebrate this special day, we hosted a “Donuts for Dad” event. Family and friends visited the facility and enjoyed a sweet treat while spending time with their loved ones. 💙🍩

Prior to Mother’s Day, we had a special treat for our ladies. Willow, an adorable 4-year-old, visited to treat the ladies to a spa day. They enjoyed facials, manicures, under eye treatments, and more! This made the residents feel so special and relaxed for Mother’s Day.

Last week, our facility celebrated National Skilled Nursing Care Week! To wrap up our week, residents played balloon volleyball on Friday. This activity is a resident favorite and we always have a lot of fun!

Yesterday, we celebrated National Skilled Nursing Care Week with some words of affirmation. Staff and residents took time to write kind words about one another on fabric squares. These squares will be sewed together to make a quilt that will be displayed at the entrance of our building. We can’t wait to see the final product!

This week, we are celebrating National Skilled Nursing Care Week! Yesterday was 80’s Day and we enjoyed some intergenerational exercise to 80’s music. After the exercise class, residents were served a healthy snack and water to stay hydrated afterwards!

A few weeks ago, we celebrated Easter! Our residents spent some time making Easter baskets for our staff. The staff were so surprised to receive them, and the residents had a fun time seeing the staff so happy. We also enjoyed some Easter Bunny Bingo, which everyone was a huge fan of! 🐰🐣
