Merry Christmas in July! We had such a wonderful day collaborating with the Warrior2Warriors, Sprenger Health Care Rose Lane and various other organizations in the community. Many people worked hard to make this day special for the veterans and each veteran enjoyed the cook out and went home with a gift bag.

One of our friends fondly recalls the Canton Hall of Fame Parade. She recalls the Hall of Fame Parade coming up with the theme and her and her team would get sponsorships and begin to draw out plans for their floats. They worked months in advance to create their floats. She entered floats in 1990, 2004 and 2005. Her favorite float is the picture she is holding which took the "Grand Prize." She has enjoyed sharing and talking about the floats this week with her new friends at Brookdale Canton.

Summertime Swing at Brookdale Canton brought new friends, family, food, jazz music, and fun! We were entertained by Eric Fairhurst, who played various jazz numbers on both the sax and flute. We enjoyed beignets and mocktails. Truly a celebration of jazz and flavor!

Summer means time with friends & family reunions! Today several of our friends at Brookdale Canton brought family photos to share. We had a grand time holding our own "family reunion." Each person took a turn talking about their family and sharing their photos. We especially enjoyed the old black and white photos. We talked about how a picture can take your mind back to that time. One friend even shared his picture of four generations of men in his family named Carl. Memories and family are so special!

How do you handle these hot days? Brookdale Canton friends took a trip to Handel's to cool off in the shade with some ice cream. Too many choices made the decisions difficult, but everyone enjoyed what they chose, and good conversation was had by all.

Peggy had worked with her at a local school for more than 20 years, and they were reunited once again!
