Preparing for the Christmas party scheduled for December 19th. We are expecting a couple of musicians and Santa to entertain our senior residents and their loved ones. This is a traditional sauerkraut recipe. Everything is home made. From pickling the cabbage to processing the meat. It took an entire day for two enormous trays, but the end result is worth the effort. There is fresh dill and thyme that were grown in our own garden. Adding the black pepper and smoked bacon enhances the flavor. We can not wait to eat them. Yummy. We will also prepare other dishes such as home made grilled sausages called "Mici." Our seniors love them along with the home made chicken schnitzel. This is just a taste of the goodies to be served.
