Comfort Keepers is looking for patriots in our local community that would like to rally for a great cause.

We will be feeding over 100 Vietnam Veterans at Williamson Brothers BBQ in Canton on Monday, March 30. We are hosting this to continue the National Vietnam Veterans Day celebration to have a long overdue Welcome Home Celebration for many of our Vietnam Veterans that never received one.

We are looking for individuals that would like to do any of the following:

1. Make cards or write letters for the Vietnam Veterans that we will give them that day.

2. Show up with flags waving at 10:45 am on Monday, March 30th to honor them as they show up for lunch.

3. Create Welcome Home signs to display inside and outside.

4. If you are a business and would like to provide giveaways for the veterans that would be nice as well.

Please contact our Veteran Community Liaison Noah Goodwin or our Comfort Keepers Community Liaison Dakota Botts for questions or more details.

National Vietnam War Veterans Day is observed annually on March 29 (Due to site availability we are celebrating on March 30th) to honor the 2.7 million Americans who served, particularly those who faced hostility upon returning home. It acts as a long-overdue, official "Welcome Home" to recognize their service, sacrifice, and the 58,000+ patriots lost.

We were honored to sponsor the Wild West Soirée benefiting The Children’s Haven and spend the evening alongside so many people who care deeply about our community.

A special shoutout to our Community Liaison, Dakota Botts, who helped raise over $5,000 for the children served by Children’s Haven.

Supporting organizations that care for local families is something we are proud to be part of.

As the weather starts warming up here in North Georgia, it’s a great reminder that a little preparation goes a long way when spending time outdoors. ☀️

We recently had the opportunity to share a presentation on sun safety, covering simple but important ways to stay safe in the heat. From protecting your skin to staying properly hydrated, these small habits can make a big difference in keeping everyone healthy and comfortable during the warmer months.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and took part in the conversation. As we head into spring and summer, remember:
💧 Stay hydrated
🧴 Protect your skin
🌤 Take breaks from the sun when needed

Taking care of ourselves today helps ensure we can enjoy many more beautiful Georgia days ahead.

There is something special about growing older in the place you call home.

So many of the families we talk with are adult children who simply want to do right by Mom and Dad. Parents want to stay independent. Children want peace of mind. Everyone wants to make thoughtful decisions together.

Having a plan in place does not have to feel overwhelming. It can begin with an honest conversation and a better understanding of what support might look like when the time comes.

At Comfort Keepers, we are honored to serve Georgia families with compassionate, personalized care that helps loved ones remain safe and confident at home. Because home is where memories live, and where comfort matters most.

Many families in North Georgia are caring for a loved one living with dementia and may not realize there is additional Medicare-supported help available.

Comfort Keepers accepts the Medicare GUIDE Program, which is designed to support individuals living with dementia and the family members caring for them at home.

The program focuses on care coordination, caregiver support, and helping individuals remain safely at home as long as possible.

We are sharing this as a community resource because navigating dementia care can feel overwhelming, and knowing what programs exist can make a difference.

Many families and community partners ask: What is a VA Community Care Network (VACCN) provider?

Comfort Keepers of North Georgia is proud to be a VA-authorized VACCN provider. That means we partner with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to deliver approved in-home care services to eligible Veterans right here in our local community.

A Veteran may qualify for Community Care when:
• They live too far from a VA facility
• VA wait times are extended
• The needed service (such as in-home caregiving) isn’t available locally
• Community care is in the Veteran’s best medical interest

We coordinate directly with the VA, manage referrals and authorizations, and ensure services meet VA standards — making the process smooth for Veterans and their families.

If you serve Veterans or have questions about Community Care, we’re here to help.

This afternoon, we had the opportunity to connect with the incredible Client Care Coordinators at Northside Hospital Cherokee

We shared valuable information about veteran benefits, our Medicare Guide Program, and our 20+ year commitment to serving families across Cherokee County. We are grateful to support the professionals who help patients and families navigate important care decisions every single day.

Great conversation, meaningful partnerships, and of course some Williamson Bros BBQ made for a wonderful afternoon.

Thank you to the team at Northside Hospital Cherokee for welcoming us and allowing us to serve alongside you as we continue strengthening care in our community.

We’re proud to introduce Peyton, our dedicated Intake Coordinator here at Comfort Keepers 💙

Driven by a deep commitment to helping others, Peyton brings hands-on experience as a CNA with a background in hospice, home health, and specialized dementia care. She understands that reaching out for care is often the first and most important step for families, and she works hard to ensure every client feels heard, valued, and supported from that very first conversation.

Currently pursuing her nursing degree, Peyton is passionate about lifelong learning and continually expanding her ability to serve others. Her kindness, patience, and genuine compassion make her a trusted guide for the families we have the privilege to care for each day.

We’re so grateful to have her as part of the Comfort Keepers team!

Behind Comfort Keepers North Georgia is a story rooted in faith, family, and service.

Jennifer Jack-Wunder has always felt called to caregiving. Long before becoming the owner of Comfort Keepers North Georgia, she helped her grandmother remain at home during Alzheimer’s. That experience showed her what it truly means to preserve dignity and comfort in familiar surroundings.

What began as a personal journey became a mission. Helping seniors live independently and joyfully at home with compassionate, personalized support.

Today, that same heart guides our team as we serve families across North Georgia every day.

If you have ever cared for someone you love, we would love to hear your story.
