Your tears hold wisdom. Emotional tears help regulate the nervous system, releasing hormones that calm the body and even reduce physical pain. When this natural emotional and neurochemical release is suppressed, it can contribute to increased anxiety, depression, and emotional outbursts. Over time, it may also impact physical health, including immune function and cardiovascular well-being (Leah S. Sherman et al., Emotion, Oct. 2020).
Crying is not weakness or failure—it is an ancient, innate technology every human is born with.
Water itself is responsive and adaptive. Japanese researcher Dr. Masaru Emoto suggests that water can hold memory and respond to environmental influences. As beings made up of 60–70% water, our emotions and intentions may influence our internal state in profound ways.
And yet, many of us—especially in Western culture—have been conditioned to suppress tears, often because it didn’t feel safe to express them. We honor this innate wisdom and the courage it takes to reconnect with it.
This is an invitation to pause, to open your heart, and to allow the full expression of grief—to be witnessed, supported, and held in love as you move through a sacred release and reset.
Join us on May 1st, where Dr. Jess and Brionna will hold a nurturing space for emotional release during this grief ceremony. You’re invited to bring a photo or meaningful item representing a loved one or any form of loss to place on our altar.
Together, we’ll move through meditation, sound healing, and gentle somatic practices, and close with a fire ceremony to honor your process.
