🚨 Signs of Dehydration in Horses 🚨
Dehydration can sneak up fast and quickly become serious.
A couple ways to test for dehydration:
👉Capillary Refill Test: Press your finger to horse’s upper gum. The pressure point will become lighter in color. If color takes more than 2 seconds to return, your horse is likely dehydrated.
🤏Skin Pinch Test: Pinch skin near point of shoulder. If skin takes more than 2 seconds to snap back, your horse is likely dehydrated.
Always provide fresh water, offer electrolytes when needed, and monitor during heat, travel, or intense exercise.
