Thank you to everyone who made our Trunk or Treat event at Glenwood such a success last week! A huge shoutout to all of the amazing volunteers and staff who decorated their trunks and joined us for a fun-filled evening – we couldn’t have done it without you! A special thank you to our dietary team for preparing all the delicious food and treats! We’re so grateful for everyone who came out to make this a memorable celebration. Can’t wait to see you all next Halloween! 🎃👻

We’re so lucky to have Pet Therapy as a part of life here at Glenwood! 🐾 Pet therapy brings incredible benefits, from reducing stress (even for our staff) and loneliness to boosting mood and even lowering blood pressure. Our residents look forward to visits from Betty Sue in our assisted living facility and Murphy in our skilled nursing facility, who each bring smiles and joy with every visit.

This past weekend, Betty Sue and Murphy got into the Halloween spirit, sharing fun activities and festive moments with our residents! Thank you to our furry friends and their dedicated handlers for making such a positive impact. 🐶💙

Exciting News! 🧸✨
Glenwood Care and Rehabilitation is proud to announce that our Activity Director, Krystal, is now Certified in Dementia Doll Therapy! 🏅 This certification allows our team to provide specialized care for individuals with dementia by using therapeutic doll interactions to promote comfort and security, reduce anxiety, and foster meaningful connections. (Just to name a few)

We are dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for our residents through innovative, person-centered approaches, and this new certification is an important step in furthering that commitment.

Last Friday, our residents enjoyed a fun-filled day at the Senior Expo Day at the Akron Zoo! From learning about local senior resources to experiencing the amazing wildlife, our residents had a blast exploring all the zoo had to offer. 🐾

🎉 As we wrap up National Skilled Nursing Care Week, we’re reminded that our celebrations never truly end! Today, we honored the Golden Age of Radio 🎙by stepping back into the Roaring 20s. 🎶

🎸 Day 3 of National Skilled Nursing Care Week: Radiant Memories- Golden Age of Radio 🎸

Today, we're turning up the volume and celebrating the vibrant spirit of the 60s with a tribute to rock and roll! From the Beatles to Elvis Presley, we're reminiscing about the music that defined a generation and brought so much joy to our lives.

Our residents and staff are rocking their 60s outfits and favorite rock band shirts, sharing stories of concerts and dances, and enjoying classic hits that take us back to the golden age of rock and roll. 🎶 🤘

The band that played today did something special- they like to call it Larry-aoke. Like Karaoke but with the Larry Schaffner Project. They are a resident favorite and simply the best.

Thank you to everyone for making this week so special. Your enthusiasm and participation are what make our community feel like family.

🎉 Day 2 National Skilled Nursing Care Week! 🎉

This year's theme is "Radiant Memories- Golden Age of Radio," and we are excited to take a nostalgic journey back to the golden days of radio.

📻✨Throughout the week, we will be celebrating the timeless charm and joy that radio brought into our lives by celebrating a different decade everyday. From classic radio shows to favorite old-time music, we will be reminiscing and creating new memories together.

Today we celebrated the 70s. 🌼☮️✌️Entertainer Jim Armogida put on a perfect performance! 🎶

Thank you to our incredible staff for all their hard work. Your radiant memories make our community shine brighter every day.

To our wonderful residents, thank you for sharing your stories, wisdom, and joy with us. You make every day special and remind us of the importance of community and connection.
