Are yearly gynecology visits really necessary if you’re not due for a Pap smear? 🤔
Many women are hearing mixed messages, and as a result, putting off important preventive care. But an annual exam is about so much more than one test.
At Cherokee Women’s Health Specialists, we often identify concerns in women who feel completely healthy because early signs of certain conditions don’t always cause symptoms.
Your yearly visit is about prevention, early detection, and protecting your long-term health, not just checking a box for insurance.
If it’s been over a year, this is your reminder. Read more on our website to learn why annual visits still matter. https://bit.ly/4rvsqm3

Bringing a new life into the world is an amazing journey that requires strength and resilience. A great way to help manage labor is through breathing techniques. Here’s how you can use your breath to make things easier:
Slow, Rhythmic Breathing: Breathe in slowly through your nose, let your belly expand, and then breathe out gently through your mouth. This helps you relax and manage pain.
Patterned Breathing: Try the “4-7-8” method—inhale for 4 counts, hold for 7 counts, and exhale for 8 counts. This pattern helps you stay focused and feel more in control.
Focused Breath: Think of a calming image or repeat a positive thought while you breathe. This helps you stay relaxed and release natural pain relievers in your body.
Lamaze Technique: Use “cleansing breaths” at the start of labor and “panting breaths” when contractions get stronger. This keeps you and your baby well-oxygenated and helps manage the intensity of labor.
We are here to help you through it all! Cal us to schedule your appointment today- 770.720.7733

Eleven years is a long time to work side by side with someone. Today we celebrated Jourdan Adams as she begins a new chapter after more than a decade with Cherokee Women’s Health.

Jourdan started with us as a medical assistant and grew into her role as a clinical administrator, always bringing the same steady presence, hard work, and care for both our patients and our team.

She has been part of countless patient stories, busy clinic days, and behind the scenes moments that keep everything running smoothly. Her impact here is bigger than any job title.

We are grateful for the years she gave to our patients and to this team. Jourdan, you will always be part of the Cherokee Women’s family. We wish you the very best, always! ❤️

We really do love our patients and their families. 🥰

Getting to see moms, babies, and the people who support them is one of the best parts of what we do. Moments like this with Dr. Stone remind us that our work is about people first, always. Congratulations to Chelsea and her sweet family. ❤️

We are so grateful when patients take the time to share their experience.

Thank you to this patient for her kind words about Dr. Haley and for trusting her during such an important season of life. Navigating menopause can feel overwhelming, and being heard, supported, and guided makes all the difference.

It is an honor to walk alongside women through every stage, offering care that listens first and treats the whole person.
