Arnold Funeral Homes

Arnold Funeral Homes Arnold Funeral Homes are family-owned and operated with over 5 generations of funeral planning history.

A lot has changed in the funeral profession since 1889 when J.L. Arnold came to Canton and purchased a furniture company and funeral home. The store produced furniture and expertly crafted wooden caskets and had embalming facilities typical of that period. As time progressed the furniture store was sold, and the main focus became caring for the people of the Canton area by providing them with the

highest quality of funeral service. In 1901, Arnold Funeral Home was honored by being selected to direct the funeral arrangements of Canton's beloved President William McKinley. In 1985, the Arnold family expanded into the Hartville community with a new funeral home location, and 4 years later, built and opened a new mortuary in Canton. Now in the fifth generation of the Arnold family, we are still guided by one simple principle: We are here to faithfully serve the people of our community without regard for rank, resources, or creed.

Kindness doesn’t have to be grand to be meaningful. A quiet check-in, a handwritten note, a warm meal; small gestures ripple outward, creating comfort and connection beyond what you’ll ever see.

Do good out there, your power is beyond measure.

“What we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes a part of us.” — Helen Keller

Grief can leave an empty space, but love has a way of remaining, woven into the fabric of our daily lives. The moments shared, the laughter, the quiet companionship; they don’t disappear. They shape who we are, offering comfort even in absence.

In the warmth of summer, even the smallest moments of care can bring comfort. Take a few minutes to sit in the shade with a journal, visit a quiet garden, or call someone who lifts your spirit.

Grief can feel heavy—but stillness, connection, and gentle routines can offer light along the way. You deserve peace, even in small doses.

Grief is love with nowhere to go.

It lingers in quiet moments, in memories that surface unexpectedly, the ebbing and flowing ache of absence.

This love—unchanged and unwavering—doesn’t disappear. It simply waits. And in time, it finds new ways to be expressed, remembered, and honored.

Some days move forward. Others feel like steps back. But every moment spent remembering, resting, or simply breathing is part of your healing. There’s no perfect pace; only the steady, quiet work of the heart as it mends in its own time.

Meet Samantha Speicher, a licensed funeral director and embalmer who brings over 12 years of dedicated experience to our team. Raised in the Navarre area, Samantha grew up around funeral service and continues to support her family’s funeral home in Beach City from time to time. A proud graduate of the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science and a U.S. Army National Guard veteran, Samantha’s heart for service extends well-beyond her profession.

When she’s not here, you can find her reading, writing, or enjoying time with her beloved kitties. We’re grateful for the care, professionalism, and steady presence she brings to every family she serves.
