“It is Enough” by Danna Faulds

It is enough right now
to taste one moment of
peace. Of course I want
more, but at least the
door is open.

It is enough to draw a
conscious breath and
let my hands relax,
fingers releasing their
tight grasp on things
outside of my control.

It is enough to shed a
layer of stress as if
taking off a jacket or a
pair of too tight shoes.

Ease of being has to
start somewhere.
This breath is my
first step.

Wednesday Unwind meets at 5pm on Wednesdays at 42 1/2 Elm Street, Potsdam (Trillium Yoga).

This class aims to reduce tension, calm the mind, and ease both mental and physical stress. To accomplish this we incorporate breath work, gentle movement, restorative postures, and body awareness.

Join us tomorrow at 5pm for a midweek reset. 🧘🏽‍♀️

When you’re an Ayurvedic Practitioner…but also a Nana!
Molasses Spice cookies are a terrific after school snack!

This is an old family recipe, with a few Ayurvedic tweaks:
➡️I used blackstrap molasses instead of molasses.
➡️I cut the sugar in half and used an unrefined form called “jaggery.”
➡️I added extra spices (cloves, ginger, cinnamon, cardamom).
➡️I used half whole wheat flour.
…And to make them fun, I rolled them in rainbow sanding sugar!! 🌈

Eating according to Ayurvedic guidelines doesn’t have to boring or rigid. Making small changes that you can live with consistently can lead to lasting and long-term change.

Join me on Wednesday at 5pm for Wednesday Unwind, an accessible yoga experience for all bodies. The aim of the class is to relax the mind and body, easing physical tension and mental stress.

No need to preregister and there’s nothing for you to bring. We have all of the props and tools you’ll need for a 45 minute unwind. Class begins at 5pm at Trillium Yoga in Potsdam.

A new yoga student brought me a fresh bunch of Holy Basil or Tulsi from her garden. I made a cup of tea and it was the best tea I’ve ever had. Literally the best.

She knew tulsi was an Ayurvedic herb, but didn’t realize that I was an Ayurvedic Practitioner. (Much about this class was synchronicity, with so many connections between students and the group as a whole!)

Holy Basil or Tulsi is a powerful herb used to
🔥kindle the digestive fire or boost digestion
🫧relieve gas
🧴ease skin conditions
⬇️move Vata downward through the GI tract
🔃increase circulation
🫀has an affinity for the heart
🫁clear mucus from the lungs
🕉️increase Prana, the vital life force

There are no contraindications for holy basil.

Wednesday Unwind is an accessible yoga offering aiming to release tension in the body and mind. This is a gentle class, suitable for all ages and abilities. We explore various expressions of a pose to find what works for each body, fitting the pose to the body rather than squeezing the body into the pose.

Join me tonight at Trillium in Potsdam. Class begins at 5pm for a 45 minute class. $15 for drop in or $120 for a 10 class card.

I have met so many people through owning a small business, offering yoga classes, and private Ayurvedic sessions…Some really amazing humans with so many gifts to share.

Today I went to the local rock and gem show with a client-turned-friend, and she gifted me this beautiful etched mirror! I was so humbled at her thoughtful gift…and I’ve been thinking all afternoon that I have been truly blessed to be able to do the work that I do: the work of tuning in, loving, supporting, listening, and just being with others practicing yoga and healing through Ayurveda.

Wednesday Unwind is an accessible yoga class for all bodies. We focus on relaxation, reducing tension, breathing, and joint mobility.

Class begins at 5pm and runs for 45 minutes. We supply all of the support tools you’ll need at 42 1/2 Elm Street, Potsdam.

It was a wonderful reminder to me of the power of self-care, listening to your deep instincts, and doing the challenging emotional labor of healing. ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹 Mental and emotional health is as crucial to our well-being as physical health.

Need to unwind midweek?!

Join us for “Wednesday Unwind” at 5pm each Wednesday at 42 1/2 Elm Street, Potsdam (the old Trillium Studio). This 45 minute class is aimed at relieving tension in the body and stress in the mind. We blend breath work with gentle movement, using many supports from blocks and bolsters to chairs.

This class is for all ages and bodies. No experience is necessary. No need to register…just bring you!
