When a cyberattack shut down network systems at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, teams across the organization pivoted quickly to protect patient care and keep learning moving forward. From handwritten charts to makeshift command centers, staff and students stepped up in remarkable ways. Take a look behind the scenes of how UMMC responded during the crisis: https://umc.edu/news/News_Articles/2026/03/Cyberattack.html

The UMMC Triage Line has been set up for calls from patients. The telephone number is 601-815-0000. For medical emergencies, call 911.

Requests for time-sensitive needs, such as medication refills or postoperative care visits, will be prioritized.

What to expect when you call

Please speak clearly when prompted to provide your name, callback number, date of birth, who you are trying to reach and your reason for calling. People calling for prescription refills should have on hand the medication name and dosage, plus the name, address and telephone number of their pharmacy.

About the call back

Messages will be routed to the appropriate person for a return phone call, in as timely a manner as possible. Please be aware your return call may be from a non-UMMC number. Return calls may be delayed as we anticipate a high volume of calls daily from across the state.

Please do not call multiple times. Repeated calls will slow our ability to respond.

We apologize for this interruption of our services. Teams are working around the clock to restore full operations and help as many people as quickly as we possibly can.

Thank you for your support and understanding.
