🚨🦸‍♂️ At Shipley, we don’t just care for kids—we care for heroes, too. 🦸‍♂️🚨

At a recent visit, Kardier’s family shared a story that reminded us just how incredible children can be.

Back in March, Kardier heard a fire alarm going off in his apartment building. While his mom thought it might be another false alarm, Kardier was concerned and insisted something wasn’t right. Because of his persistence, his mom checked, and discovered a fire in the laundry room on the floor below them.

Thanks to Kardier’s quick thinking, attentiveness, and courage, action was taken before things became even more dangerous.

We’re proud to celebrate Kardier for being observant, brave, and speaking up when something didn’t feel right. Heroes come in all ages—and this one is only 6 years old. ❤️

👏 Join us in celebrating Kardier, our Shipley Hero, for reminding all of us that paying attention, trusting your instincts, and caring for others can make a big difference.

Some days at Shipley, the care is so personalized even the outfits match. 😄

Dr. Lakritz and one of our awesome patients showed up completely twinning today, and honestly… we think they pulled it off pretty well! 👯‍♂️💙

Moments like these remind us that joy, connection, and a little fun are all part of caring for kids.

☀️💦 Summer means more time near pools, lakes, and water—but water safety starts before the fun begins.

Drowning happens quickly and quietly, and it remains one of the leading causes of accidental injury for children. A few simple precautions can make all the difference:

🏊 Always provide close, active supervision — stay within arm’s reach of young children around water.
🛟 Use U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jackets for boating and around open water.
🚫 Avoid relying on floaties or inflatable toys as safety devices.
👶 Empty kiddie pools and buckets after use — even small amounts of water can be dangerous.
📱 Put phones down and avoid distractions when supervising children in or near water.
🏊‍♀️ Consider swim lessons to help children build confidence and learn basic water safety skills.
🚪 Secure pools with fences and locked gates when not in use.

The best summer memories are safe ones. Take a few extra precautions so your family can enjoy every splash, swim, and sunny day ahead. 💙☀️

Today our team celebrated a “Wacky Wednesday” by dressing up in our silliest outfits and bringing some extra fun and smiles to the clinic. From crazy colors to mismatched styles, it was a great reminder that joy, creativity, and connection are an important part of caring for children and families every day.

Thanks to our amazing staff for always being willing to have a little fun while doing such important work! 💙

One year back at Shipley… or should we say twenty? 💙

We’re celebrating Alanna’s anniversary with Shipley! Many of our families may remember Alanna from her years with our Help Me Grow Program or Care Coordination, and we are so grateful to have welcomed her back to the Shipley team this past year in our administrative office.

Whether she’s the friendly voice greeting parents on the phone or the warm smile welcoming families through our doors, Alanna brings kindness, compassion, and care to every interaction each day.

Thank you, Alanna, for all you do for our patients, families, and team — we’re so glad you’re part of the Shipley family! 🎉

This recognition belongs to every child we’ve cared for, every family who has trusted us, and every staff member—past and present—who has poured their heart into this work.
