School is back in session in Southwest Florida, which means more children walking, biking, and riding the bus. Let’s all do our part to keep them safe. 💙

🚸 Drivers:
-Stop for school buses with flashing red lights and an extended stop arm — it’s the law
-Slow down in school zones
-Never use a handheld phone in active school or work zones
-Stay alert! Your vehicle can be deadly at just 30 mph

🚌 Kids & Parents:
-Arrive at the bus stop early and wait safely away from the road
-Know your bus number and driver’s name
-Never walk behind the bus or near the wheels
-Wait for the driver’s signal before crossing

Together, we can make this school year a safe one.

Congratulations to our July BEE Award recipient: Nicole Bruno, Medical Social Worker in the Emergency Department at Lee Memorial Hospital! 💙

Nicole’s impact goes far beyond her job title, she’s a true advocate, an unwavering supporter, and a light for both patients and team members alike.

One team member shared how Nicole helped them through an incredibly difficult time, offering not only guidance and professional support, but encouragement that inspired life-changing decisions.

Whether it’s walking the ER floor making sure every patient has what they need, or simply being there when a colleague needs a lift, Nicole shows us what Being Exceptional Every day truly looks like.

Nicole, thank you for your compassion, your strength, and your ability to make those around you feel seen, heard, and cared for. You are so appreciated!

🏥 Cape Coral Hospital Recognized for Outstanding Patient Safety!

We’re proud to share that Cape Coral Hospital is one of just 514 hospitals in the U.S. to achieve a zero rate of catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTIs), a remarkable milestone in patient safety and infection prevention.

This recognition is based on the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) dataset on healthcare-associated infections, using data collected by the CDC's National Healthcare Safety Network from July 2023 to June 2024.

What does this mean?
✅ Patients receiving safer, higher-quality care
✅ Zero CAUTI infections during medical treatment
✅ Our team’s commitment to excellence and vigilance in every step of patient care

From infection control to compassionate bedside care, this achievement reflects the dedication of our entire Cape Coral Hospital team to providing a safe, healing environment for every patient, every day.
