This month is dedicated to raising awareness about juvenile diabetes, also known as Type 1 diabetes. Unlike Type 2, Type 1 is an autoimmune condition that typically appears in children and young adults, where the body attacks its own insulin-producing cells in the pancreas. This means those affected must rely on insulin therapy to regulate their blood sugar levels for life.

Juvenile diabetes isn’t caused by lifestyle choices, and it can affect anyone, regardless of background. Those living with Type 1 diabetes face daily challenges with blood sugar management, injections, and monitoring—yet they live with resilience and strength. 💪💙

Let’s all come together this month to support individuals and families affected by this disease. The more we understand, the closer we get to building a community that provides hope, resources, and compassion. Emotions are powerful and often complex—they can lift us up, weigh us down, and everything in between. When we choose to ignore or suppress what we’re truly feeling, those emotions don’t disappear. Instead, they linger beneath the surface, silently shaping our actions, thoughts, and relationships. 🌊

Acknowledging our emotions, even the difficult ones, is a courageous act. It’s about giving ourselves permission to feel sadness, anger, joy, or fear without judgment. When we let ourselves fully experience these emotions, we free ourselves from their control. Only by facing them can we truly understand and move forward, finding peace and clarity along the way. 🌈

Nourish Wellness provides treatment for adults, couples, seniors, the LBGTQ community, and families in a safe and non-judgmental environment using both traditional talk and integrative therapies. It is our philosophy that a therapist-client relationship is incredibly unique and as such we use an integrative approach which enables us to be flexible and tailor treatment goals in the most effective way that best suit your needs. Using a variety of treatment techniques including strengths-based therapy, rational emotive behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and mindfulness cognitive behavioral therapy. The practice of Mindfulness Meditation and Visual-Guided Meditation is also an important component of our treatment approach.
