Most of you know the journey I have been going through. I am excited to announce that I should be back on the water and running charters in the near future! Hopefully in the next 2-3 weeks, i’ll be able to get the boat on the water! Been waiting for this moment for almost a year! My last charter/day on the water was the day of my accident. October 29th, 2024. I ran a half day trip and then went pig hunting that evening. The outcome of breaking my leg was unfortunate, but I am very excited for this new journey and not letting it control my future! The charter name will remain the same. It will not be changed to peg leg charters (as requested by some 😂😂) but I will make up stories for the kids! 😂🦈

As many of you know, Captain JJ experienced a traumatic leg injury in October resulting in many complications and 11 surgeries. He underwent a below the knee amputation on Thursday. He is now home, in good spirits and working on his recovery. He has every intention of getting back to his firefighting career and back on the boat to make new memories with you all very soon! We appreciate you all.

Hey there! Haven’t posted in a while. Unfortunately this whole leg thing has been quite the journey, unfortunately! This was suppose to be a 2 surgery process. I have been through 6 surgeries and STILL have 2 more to go. 🫣

Long story short. Caught an infection that went to my bone approximately 9 weeks into this journey. The infection has taken me backwards substantially. All the hardware that was placed into my leg (3 plates, approx 20 screws, and a rod) all had to come out. I’m over four months of being non weight bearing. This Thursday I go in for skin grafting. Once that is healed I will have only one more surgery to go (hopefully). My orthopedic surgeon will put hardware back into my leg and finish up with bone grafting and ankle fusion. 7 weeks of antibiotics through a pic line that was placed into my bicep has not been fun. Just finished that up this week! On top of the 9 days I spent in the hospital over Christmas with 2 surgeries that week.

I’m doing well. Just can’t wait to get to the final surgery so I can be on the home stretch and return to normal lifestyle! Thank you to everyone that has reached out. Hopefully be back to fishing no later than June. We will see!

The picture is of my third external fixators I have been placed in. Hoping to get out of these and go back to a walking boot when I have my final surgery. Very painful. We will see! Thanks for reading! 🙏

Hey guys! Just wanted to throw up a post. Some already know. Unfortunately I will be off the boat and off the water for quite sometime! Last week, I was out doing some pig hunting and something had happened to the ladder causing me to fall about 12 feet to the ground, breaking my right leg. I’m ok. Just in lot of pain. It’s been a long week trying to maintain the pain with medication.

Hopefully I’ll be back to fishing before February. I had surgery to place external fixators and hopfully next week I’ll get to go back into surgery for my permanent hardware. I apologize for any convenience if you and your family are coming down early winter and wanting to go fishing. Feel free to hit me up and I’d be gladly to give any updates!

Storm has passed! House is good. Family is good! Power is out at the moment, but should be back to normal soon!

First of all. Just wanted to say thank you for everyone that has texted me! I appreciate everyone one of you for checking in on my family and I with this hurricane coming in. Chelsea and Korbin (my wife and son) left early this morning and headed to Virginia to stay with her dad. I will have to stay and work my full time job with the fire department. So far everything is good. Just taking care of small things around the house, prepping for the storm. I’ll be sure to send some updates after the storm. The boat should be fine (don’t worry) and shall fish again soon 😆.

Tarpon were cooperating today! Went 3 for 6. Definitely lost a couple big ones!

Definitely one of the biggest bull sharks landed! The power in these fish are absolutely incredible! (Sorry for the language in the video 🫣🤷‍♂️)

Ryan and sam came out for a little shark adventure! Started out catching some small ones and Sam really wanted to catch something big and he got what he wanted! He landed a big ol bull shark right at about 25 min. He was just as tired as that bull shark was! We broke off a bigger one that was just before this one came in and took the bait.

Things were getting a little chaotic. Dealing with a 100lb bull shark at the side of the boat while Joe (a 15 year old badass!) was trying to keep the tarpon from swimming into the anchor! 🤣 which he absolutely did amazing!

Joe came back to fight some big fish. His last trip he was able to fight a big tiger shark! This year… Joe wanted a tarpon! 😉
