40 Developmental Assets!
The Developmental Assets® are 40 research-based, positive experiences and qualities that influence young people’s development, helping them become caring, responsible, and productive adults.

Over time, studies of more than 5 million young people consistently show that the more assets that young people have, the less likely they are to engage in a wide range of high-risk behaviors and the more likely they are to thrive.

The Bollinger County Children and Youth Issues Coalition had an incredibly successful turnout from schools in Bollinger County and from professionals who serve the county during the “Hidden in Plain View” event. The trailer with the mock bedroom was provided by Addiction is Real, Inc. There was an excellent presentation of ways substances can be hidden on a person and in a mock bedroom. For more information about substance misuse prevention education, please contact the Southeast Prevention Resource Center or the Bollinger County Children and Youth Issues Coalition.
