The Bollinger County Children and Youth Issues Coalition had an incredibly successful turnout from schools in Bollinger County and from professionals who serve the county during the “Hidden in Plain View” event. The trailer with the mock bedroom was provided by Addiction is Real, Inc. There was an excellent presentation of ways substances can be hidden on a person and in a mock bedroom. We are pleased to share that the 2025 edition of the Su***de Prevention & 988 Guide for Missouri Schools is now complete and available for use. This resource is intended to support schools in their ongoing efforts to prevent youth su***de, respond effectively and navigate a su***de crisis, and understand how to engage with Missouri’s behavioral health crisis services.
This updated edition includes:
• Strategies and resources available to help strengthen school or district-wide su***de prevention efforts and promote safe, supportive environments for students
• Information on how schools can utilize 988, mobile crisis response, and behavioral health crisis center services
• Updated, evidence-based su***de prevention programming
• New resources for parents and guardians explaining 988 and available supports
• Immediate steps schools can take in the aftermath of a su***de death
This guide complements the recently updated DESE Model School Policy on Su***de Prevention and is intended to be used alongside it to strengthen school preparedness and response efforts.

Annie, Nikki, and Cassie had the opportunity to participate in the CADCA Mid-Year Conference in Nashville, Tennessee. This was a beautiful location for the PRC staff to continue gaining knowledge of substance misuse prevention and networking with others in the field!

The PRC staff enjoyed being part of the 19th Annual Bollinger County Resource Fair! The variety of vendors provided health and wellness information, along with fun games and activities for the community.

Thank you to “Tall Cop” for an excellent presentation! This educational opportunity provided professionals with knowledge and awareness of national current drug trends. He also provided some examples from Missouri and surrounding states. A very eye opening experience of what is happening now and what’s to come with harmful substances.
