We want to highlight Courtney Lee, our incredible Travel Director of Nursing! 💛 Courtney has been part of our Life Care family for one year and truly goes above and beyond to make sure each resident feels loved, supported, and cared for every day. 🫂

Courtney loves watching our short-term therapy residents work hard to regain their strength. Being able to witness their progress and celebrate those milestones with them is incredibly rewarding. She also cherishes building relationships with long-term residents and getting to know their stories. Courtney enjoys working alongside the wonderful team here at Life Care Center of Cape Girardeau, and of her favorite experiences was serving as Interim Director of Nursing. 🩺

When she’s not at work, Courtney loves spending time with her family. She and her husband also run their own engraving business. With four kids, a grandson, a dog, and their business, life definitely stays busy when she’s home and not traveling for work. Courtney, thank you for being such an important part of our team and for the joy you bring to our building every day! 🙌

💬 What keeps her motivated? “Seeing the smiles on my sweet residents’ faces and bringing joy to their lives!”
💬 What does she love most about Life Care? “Meeting so many different people, spending time with our staff and residents, and sharing so many fun activities together.”
💬 Favorite memory: “When one of our employees impersonated Elvis during karaoke night! He was such a hit the residents asked for an encore!” 🎤🎶

Today, National Caregivers Day, we recognize all types of caregivers 🫶: our associates who bring compassion and professionalism to their interactions with our residents; family members who lovingly care for their loved ones; and other professionals in the healthcare industry who take care of those who cannot take care of themselves.

Together, we bring more than just "services." We bring love, comfort, and the dignity every person deserves. ☺️

He started out as a PRN PTA and worked his way up to become our DOR in 2020. His dedication to our residents and their progress truly shines every day! 💪❤️

✨ What motivates you? “Watching our residents make progress in therapy and being able to return home.”
✨ Favorite memory at LCCA? “When we were finally able to reopen our doors after COVID and families could come back in to see their loved ones.”
✨ What do you enjoy most about working here? “I love getting to know our residents on a personal level.”
✨ Fun fact: “I’m 6'8— and while people assume I played basketball, I actually played baseball in college!” ⚾

Say hello to Pam Buchheit, our wonderful Social Services Director here at Life Care Center of Cape Girardeau! Pam has been caring for our community as a Social Worker for over 30 years. Her heart for helping others truly shines through in everything she does. 💕

What keeps her motivated? 👉 “Working with the residents and helping them progress back to their prior level of function," said Pam.

What does she love most about Life Care? 👉 “Meeting new people and getting to know the residents," said Pam. "I also enjoy being an advocate for our residents.”

Fun fact: Pam once met Elvis and Priscilla Presley in 1968! 🎶 They were out riding horses, and she even got their autographs— what a memory! 🐴
