Thyroid + hormones:

It controls:
⚡ Metabolism
🔥 Energy production
❤️ Heart rate
💭 Mood and cognition
💪 Muscle function
🧠 Brain chemistry

When thyroid is HEALTHY (TSH 1-2, Free T4/T3 optimal):
✓ Energy is good
✓ Weight is stable
✓ Mood is stable
✓ Metabolism works

When thyroid is STRUGGLING:
❌ Fatigue (no amount of sleep helps)
❌ Weight gain (despite eating well, exercising)
❌ Depression/mood issues
❌ Brain fog
❌ Hair loss
❌ Dry skin

Here's the problem:
Most doctors only test TSH. That's not enough.

You need:
✓ TSH (standard)
✓ Free T4 (the active form)
✓ Free T3 (the MOST active form)

Why? Because you can have "normal" TSH with low T3 and FEEL TERRIBLE.

Get comprehensive thyroid testing. Not just TSH. Your energy (and your hormones) depend on it.

PCOS just became PMOS. Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome.

And honestly? About time.

For years, women were told it was "just ovarian cysts" when cysts aren't even required for diagnosis. Because this was never just about cysts.

It's insulin resistance.
Hormone dysfunction.
Metabolic issues.
Chronic inflammation.
Fertility struggles.
Weight changes.
Hair loss.
Exhaustion.
Mood changes.

An entire body disorder was reduced to a name that made it sound simple, and that misunderstanding led to years of women being dismissed, misdiagnosed, and told to "just lose weight."

The name matters. Because language shapes how seriously we take women's health. And women deserve care that sees the whole body—not just one organ.

Let's talk about estrogen. The hormone that gets blamed for everything but actually does SO MUCH for your body.

Estrogen isn't just about reproduction. It:
💪 Protects your bone density (hello, osteoporosis prevention)
❤️ Supports cardiovascular health
🧠 Influences mood and cognitive function
🔥 Regulates body temperature (hot flashes = estrogen decline)
💤 Affects sleep quality
📉 Controls metabolism and fat distribution

When estrogen drops? You feel it EVERYWHERE.

Weight creeps up. Mood swings happen. Brain fog sets in. Sleep gets worse.

This is why we can't just treat symptoms. We have to understand what's actually happening hormonally.

Know your estrogen levels. It changes everything. Learn more: https://link.msgsndr.com/sp/25fd02d3444

May is a time to recognize women’s health across the lifespan, from the reproductive years through the menopausal transition. Hormones influence many aspects of well-being, and understanding these changes helps support informed, individualized care at every stage.

During the premenopausal years, conditions such as polycystic o***y syndrome (PCOS) can significantly affect hormone balance. PCOS is associated with irregular menstrual cycles, acne, excess hair growth, and challenges with ovulation and fertility. It is also linked to long-term metabolic risks, including insulin resistance and metabolic cancers, making early diagnosis and management important for both reproductive and overall health.

Perimenopause is the transitional phase leading up to menopause, often beginning in the 40s (or earlier). During this time, fluctuating estrogen and progesterone levels can lead to symptoms such as irregular periods, sleep disturbance, mood changes, hot flashes, and night sweats. This stage can begin up to ten years prior to menopause and is often when women first notice meaningful changes in their cycles and symptom patterns.

In menopause, symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness, sleep disruption, and unexplained weight gain may develop. Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) can be an effective, evidence-based option for symptom relief, improved quality of life, and longevity of life in appropriately selected women. Current guidelines emphasize that treatment decisions should be individualized based on symptoms, age, health history, and personal preferences.

Overall, hormonal changes occur naturally over the various stages of life, and each stage can bring different symptoms and health considerations. There are a range of evidence-based options for management of symptoms, including lifestyle approaches and, when appropriate, medical therapies such as HRT. Because every woman’s experience and risk profile is unique, it is important to discuss symptoms and treatment options with a qualified medical professional to determine the most appropriate and safe approach for individual needs.

For all the mothers out there, make time for yourself and take advantage of our May special.

One hormone out of balance can throw off your ENTIRE system.

Here's how it goes:
X Too much testosterone? → Acne, hair loss, mood swings
X Low progesterone? → Anxiety, insomnia, painful periods
X High cortisol? → Weight gain, fatigue, brain fog
X Low thyroid? → Metabolism crashes, energy disappears

But here's the good news: When you understand what's happening and GET THE RIGHT SUPPORT, everything changes.

This Women's Health Month, we're diving into the hormones that control your mood, energy, metabolism, and body. No BS. Just science.

Welcome to Women's Health Month 🎉

Here's a stat that shocked us: 66% of women have NEVER tested their hormones. Not once.

Yet they're dealing with irregular periods, unexplained weight gain, brain fog, mood swings, and low libido—all of which could be hormone-related.

The problem isn't your body. The problem is that we've normalized dismissing hormone symptoms instead of investigating them.

This month, we're changing the conversation.

At Optimize U, we believe hormone health deserves the same science-based care you'd get for any other health concern. No dismissal. No assumptions. Just data-driven answers.

Follow along all month as we break down what hormones actually do, why your symptoms matter, and how personalized hormone therapy can give you your life back.

Your hormones are talking. It's time to listen. Learn more: https://link.msgsndr.com/sp/25fd02d3444
