The Chateau Girardeau is a non-profit, CARF-accredited Continuing Care Retirement Community serving seniors in Southeast Missouri.

The Chateau Girardeau is Southeast Missouri's premier continuing care retirement community offering independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing care and senior rehabilitation therapies all on one campus. Since 1979, our community has served seniors with a vision founded in faith and guided by a commitment to premier care and housing. Today, The Chateau has grown to include 120 Independent

Living homes, a Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation facility, Assisted Living apartments, and a nationally recognized therapy team and program. Residents have access to on-campus amenities such as formal and casual culinary options, exercise classes, and a full schedule of daily activities. Off-campus, residents of The Chateau are never far from Cape’s world-class medical centers, golf clubs, downtown shopping, Southeast Missouri State University events, or the Mississippi riverfront. 🌟 Congratulations to our April Employee of the Month, Lori Johnson! 🌟

Lori joined our team in early 2025 in preparation for the opening of The Meadows, our new Memory Care residence, and she has already made an incredible impact. Her compassionate heart and genuine love for seniors shine through everything she does.

Whether she’s surprising a resident with their favorite flowers or spending extra time by their side during a difficult day, Lori consistently goes above and beyond to brighten lives and make our residents feel loved and cared for.

We’re feeling extra grateful for our wonderful partnership with Southeast Missouri State University! ❤️

In celebration of Earth Day, the Campus Life & Event Services Emerging Leaders joined our Memory Care residents in the Meadows courtyard to plant a beautiful garden together. 🌱🌼

The fun continued as the Southeast River Campus Chamber Choir filled our community with beautiful music, followed by a delightful performance from the Flute Ensemble. 🎶

These meaningful moments bring so much joy to our residents, and we are so thankful for the students and staff who share their time and talents with us. Thank you, SEMO, for helping create such special memories! 💙❤️
