The Chateau Girardeau is a non-profit, CARF-accredited Continuing Care Retirement Community serving seniors in Southeast Missouri.

The Chateau Girardeau is Southeast Missouri's premier continuing care retirement community offering independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing care and senior rehabilitation therapies all on one campus. Since 1979, our community has served seniors with a vision founded in faith and guided by a commitment to premier care and housing. Today, The Chateau has grown to include 120 Independent

Living homes, a Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation facility, Assisted Living apartments, and a nationally recognized therapy team and program. Residents have access to on-campus amenities such as formal and casual culinary options, exercise classes, and a full schedule of daily activities. Off-campus, residents of The Chateau are never far from Cape’s world-class medical centers, golf clubs, downtown shopping, Southeast Missouri State University events, or the Mississippi riverfront. "I feel the need… the need for speed!" ✈️

Residents and guests at The Chateau were treated to an unforgettable visit from a real-life Top Gun! Captain Tom Trotter, a Navy pilot with more than two decades of service, shared thrilling stories from his time in the skies and on the deck.

As a member of the exclusive “Grand Club” with more than 1,000 aircraft carrier landings, former Commanding Officer of Top Gun, and CAG on the USS Constellation, Captain Trotter has flown more than 200 types of aircraft, including F-14 Tomcats and F/A-18 Hornets. ✈

Today, he continues to inspire as a speaker and private pilot. 📸 Check out the photos from his talk and see why this was a day to remember at The Chateau!

🎓 Celebrating Our Future Healthcare Leaders! 🎓

The Chateau Foundation is proud to award $1,000 scholarships to two immensely deserving staff members — Precious Brown and Reagyn Strickland (not pictured).

Precious is pursuing a degree in Healthcare Administration, and Reagyn is studying to be an RN. We’re so inspired by their dedication to learning, growth, and making a difference in the lives of others.

A heartfelt thank you to The Chateau Foundation Board and our generous residents whose contributions make these scholarships possible — and to the families who joined us in celebrating these amazing women! 💙

Back-to-School Blessings 📚✏️🎒

Our residents have once again shown their generous hearts! 💛 They donated funds to provide school supplies for the children of our incredible staff members — and thanks to their kindness, nearly 70 students will start the school year with the supplies they need to succeed.

Residents also joined in the fun by helping pack up the supplies, adding an extra dose of care to every bag!
