What is the difference between conscious sedation and general anesthesia? We have an answer!
"Conscious sedation is defined as “a drug-induced depression of consciousness during which patients are able to maintain their own reflexes and airway without the need for an anesthesiologist,” according to the American Society of Anesthesiologists. Whereas general anesthesia involves “drug-induced loss of consciousness during which patients are not arousable, even by painful stimulation." General anesthesia requires an anesthesiologist which increases the cost of your procedure by about $2,000. For more questions regarding our colonoscopy service, give us a call today!"
