My husband Scott Kitchener, OTR and I, Dr. Tanice Kitchener, DPT, PT started Rocky Mountain TheraPros (RMTP) as an avenue for creating travel therapy contracts with companies that were in need of high quality, short term, therapy staffing. We had been working as therapists through a travel agency, however found that we could bring the service to more companies by cutting out several overhead administrative costs and making it more financially feasible by utilizing our own LLC. As many do, we thought that the Roaring Fork Valley would be a wonderful temporary stop to live, work, and play until we moved on to our next adventure. And, like most, we have quickly fallen in love with the physical and cultural environment of the Roaring Fork, developing a great appreciation for our neighbors here. Recently, Scott and I have performed an honest assessment of what we have, as well as what we want professionally and personally. At this time, we have decided to seize opportunities to shift the direction of Rocky Mountain TheraPros by offering self-pay Physical Therapy Services to those in the community who want to maximize their wellbeing on their own terms. Scott is going to pursue new and exciting opportunities as a member of established practices, and I will head up the RMTP practice. In the short time that we have been in the Roaring Fork Valley, we have discovered that there is a common theme amongst the locals. This area attracts individuals who are driven to outdoor activities and general physical (and mentally physical) challenges. There is a staggering amount of people here highly motivated to stay at the top of their game. “The Game” varies but the passion is universal. Whether you are passionate about skiing, biking, hiking, golfing, equestrian activities, Crossfit, musical performance, or countless others, we can help you maximize your mobility, stability, and neuromuscular control, minimizing your risk of injury. Working as a team with our clients to maximize their health and potential is what drives us as therapists! Whether you are looking for a partner to help you simply live or work with less pain, gain mobility and strength, or help you perform in a highly physical lifestyle, we are here to help you achieve your goals. To those in the Roaring Fork Valley whom I have not had the pleasure of meeting yet, please allow me to introduce myself… I am Dr. Tanice Kitchener, PT, DPT. I was born and raised in the Denver metro area, however grew up spending time at my great grandparents cabin on The Frying Pan River. I am thrilled to be living here, as this valley has always had a soothing effect on my soul. Professionally; I received my Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Colorado in 2008. Since then I have made it a priority to continue to learn beyond the basic Doctoral level. I pride myself in having a unique and expansive toolbox for treatments including; Trigger Point Dry Needling, Sports/Orthopedic Cupping (also known as Myofascial Decompression), Myofascial Release, Joint Mobilizations, Soft Tissue Mobilization, Selective Functional Movement Assessment, Therapeutic Exercise, and Anatomical/Pathological/Mechanical Education. In addition to helping individuals with general biomechanical and orthopedic impairments, I also have a passion for working with individuals who have Pelvic Floor Dysfunction (pain including vulvodynia, abnormal muscle tension, incontinence, coccyx pain, etc), Diastasis Recti (separation of the abdominal wall usually due to pregnancy), and those who have undergone treatments for Cancer (chemotherapy, radiation, mastectomy, etc). I have seen that there is an incredible amount of people with the above impairments struggling to return to a high level of activity with very little options for skilled guidance. I am here to help!
