ANNOUNCEMENT: A New Chapter in Trusted Funeral Care

Since its founding in 1998 by Donna M. Hudak-O’Shea and her husband, Patrick J. “P.J.” O’Shea, the Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home has provided compassionate, professional service to families throughout the Mid-Valley region. With over 35 years of experience in funeral service, Donna has remained a trusted presence in the lives of so many, offering families personalized care with dignity and grace.

Today, I am humbled and honored to share that the Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home, Inc. is now under new ownership.

As of June 16, 2025, I, Lawrence A. Gabriel III (Larry), have assumed ownership of the funeral home. I am a third generation licensed funeral director and proud to carry on the Gabriel family tradition of service that began in Carbondale in 1968 with my grandfather, Lawrence A. Gabriel Sr. Like the O’Sheas, my family has always believed in treating every family we serve as our own.

What remains unchanged, and invaluable, is that Donna M. Hudak-O’Shea will continue to serve as the licensed supervisor and a dedicated member of our staff. Her continued presence ensures that the relationships she has built over the decades will remain a cornerstone of the care we provide.

I am deeply grateful to Donna and P.J. for the trust they’ve placed in me, and to the Mid-Valley community for welcoming this new chapter. Together, we will continue to honor the legacy of service that the Hudak-O’Shea name represents.

On behalf of Donna, P.J., and myself, thank you for your continued trust. I invite you to reach out, stop by, or simply say hello as we move forward, together.

We’re here, as we’ve always been, to serve you with integrity and care.
