Gregory James Robinson – Bush
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gregory James Robinson, 70, who departed this life on Monday, March 30, 2026.
Greg was born August 11, 1955, in Anna, Illinois.
Greg proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, a service he carried with honor and pride throughout his life.
On December 12, 1981, Greg married the love of his life, Donna Robison. Together they shared over 42 years of marriage, building a life centered around love, laughter, and family until her passing on January 26, 2024.
Greg and Donna dedicated over 20 years of service to Maytag, where they formed lasting friendships and truly valued their Maytag family. Following his time there, Greg went on to work as a truck driver, a career from which he later retired.
He found joy in life’s simple pleasures—fishing, playing cards, and sharing laughter with those around him. Above all, Greg cherished time spent with his children and grandchildren, who were the center of his world and whom he loved deeply.
He is survived by his children, son, Andrew and wife Casey Robinson, daughter, Heather Robinson, and daughter, Agusta and husband William Washington; his cherished grandchildren, Vanna, Connor, Wade, Isaiah, Amiyah, Ian, and Kylan; along with many close cousins and dear friends.
Greg was preceded in death by his father, Jack Robinson, and his beloved wife, Donna Robinson.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 3, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with funeral services beginning at noon, officiated by Pastor Greg Parker. Burial with full military honors will follow at Blairsville Cemetery.

Tristan Tyler Morris – Carterville

Tristan Tyler Morris, 40, of Carterville, Illinois, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2026.

He was born and raised in West Frankfort, Illinois, the son of Rocky and Terrie (Carter) Morris.

Tristan was a man who deeply loved his family and friends. Those closest to him knew him as a protector—someone who cared fiercely for the people in his life and was always there when he was needed most.

He is survived by his best friend and loving wife of nearly 20 years, Alyssa Morris, and their daughter, Brinlee Morris of Carterville, IL, who were the center of his world. He considered his daughter his greatest accomplishment in life.

He is also survived by his sisters and brothers: Alicia and Chris Niemeyer, Lacy Morris, Christopher Morris and his girlfriend, Alex Wingo, and Isaac Morris and his wife, Jennifer Morris. He is further survived by his mother-in-law, Kellie Mitchell and Deon Mitchell; father-in-law, Tom Haskell; grandmother-in-law, Leslie Adams; and brothers-in-law, Dusten Adams and Jake Haskell.

Tristan leaves behind many beloved nieces and a nephew—Chase Niemeyer; Raelynn Stewart, Breanna Stewart, Macy Glasser, Heidi Morris, Mia Morris, Kenzie Morris, Eloise Morris, Adalayde Adams, Hadleigh Birkner, Ellianna Caldwell, and Lainey Caldwell—all of whom he loved dearly.

He is also remembered by his girlfriend, Kelly Howell, and her seven children of Makanda, Illinois.

Above all else, Tristan will be remembered for his larger-than-life personality, his passion for the gym, his love for the Lakers and college football, his strength, and the deep love he had for his family and friends. He loved his friends like brothers and cherished those bonds deeply.

His presence brought comfort, laughter, a little bit of chaos, and a sense of protection to those around him. His loss will be felt deeply by all who knew and loved him.

His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.

Visitation will be on Saturday April 4th, 2026, from 10 a.m. – 12 noon with funeral services at noon.

James “Jim” Halleran, 73, of Pittsburg, Illinois, passed into eternal rest on March 26, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Jim was born on June 4, 1952, in Herrin, Illinois, to Jack M. and Charlotte (Leads) Halleran. In 1979, he married the love of his life, Rosanne V. Dallas, and together they shared over 47 wonderful years of marriage built on love, dedication, and family.

Jim devoted more than 50 years of his life to the timber industry, where he took great pride in owning and operating multiple companies. He was a hardworking man who found joy in the outdoors—especially hunting and fishing—and was known for his mechanical skills and ability to fix just about anything. Above all, Jim cherished his family and the time he spent with them.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rosanne “Donna” Halleran; his children, Denny (Trish) Halleran, Brooke (James) Stewart, James L. (Mary Ann) Halleran, and Kelly (Gabriel) Smith; his mother, Charlotte Halleran; his grandchildren, Gabriel Rothermel, Kayla Halleran, and Coy Halleran; his brothers, Jackie, Bob, and Roger Halleran; his sisters, Elizabeth Todd and Kathy (Tom) Grasher; and many other dear family members and friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his father, Jack M. Halleran, daughter Brandy Dawn and his brothers, Billy Ray and Ronald Halleran and his beloved dog Stubby.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Blairsville Cemetery, with Pastor Greg Parker officiating.

Christina M. Burgess – Herrin

With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of Christina M. Burgess, 55, who went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, surrounded by the family she cherished so deeply.

Christina was born on March 28, 1970, in Creve Coeur, Missouri, to George and Sherry (Jolly) Martin. From the very beginning, Christina’s life was rooted in love—love that she so freely gave to everyone around her, especially her family.

Christina’s greatest joy in life was her family. She treasured every moment spent together, whether it was sharing laughter, offering support, or simply being present. Her love was constant, selfless, and unwavering. She was a caring sister, a proud aunt, and a guiding light to those who knew her. Christina had a special way of making each person feel valued and loved, and her presence brought warmth and comfort to her family every single day. Her hobbies include sewing, cooking, and crafts. She has such a creative spirit and always came up with the most thoughtful and special ideas in everything she did. She loved babysitting Peyton more than anything and watching him grow up brought her so much joy. The bond they shared was truly special filled with love, laughter, and so many memories and little adventures that will be cherished forever.

She leaves behind her husband, Thomas Burgess of Herrin, who was her partner and best friend; her dear sisters, Denise (AJ) Richard of Hurst and Joy (Brian) Neal of Marion; and her beloved nieces and nephews, Barin Neal, Peyton Richard, and Landyn Neal, who meant the world to her. She is also survived by her uncles, Anthony Martin, and Henry Orth of Arizona, and Aunt Cristine Martin of Warrenton, Missouri along with many extended family members and friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.

Christina was preceded in death by her father, George Fredrick Martin; her grandparents, George E. Martin and Kathleen V. Martin; and her uncles Dave Martin, Ronald E. Martin.

Though her time here was far too short, the love Christina gave so freely will live on in the hearts of her family. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2026, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home in Hurst, with funeral services beginning at 1:30 p.m., officiated by Pastor Greg Parker.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Lamb, who passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, March 10, 2026.

Linda was born on July 8, 1960, in Murphysboro, Illinois, to Kenneth and Judith (Baltzell) Clerk. She spent much of her life helping with the family business, Ken’s Antiques in DeSoto, where she enjoyed meeting people and sharing her love of antiques.

Linda is survived by her loving father, Ken Clerk of DeSoto; her brother, Jeff Clerk of Marion; nephews and nieces, Matthew and Mollie Clerk of DeSoto, Misty Andrew Rowe of Goreville, and Kenzie and Payton Clerk of DeSoto; her nephew, Zane Clerk of Marion; along with many other dear family members and friends who will cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Judith Clerk; her husband, Tim Lamb; her brother, Mark Kenneth Clerk; and her grandparents, Ralph and Thelma Clerk, and Howard and Ruby Baltzell.

William Samuel “Sammy” Patterson, 43, of Carbondale, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at 6:12 p.m. at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, surrounded by his loving family.

William was born on August 1, 1982, in Murphysboro, Illinois, the son of the late George Ronald Patterson and Sue Ellen Hazel (Patterson).

William dedicated nearly 20 years of service to Southern Illinois University in the Food Service industry, where he built lasting friendships and took pride in his work. He had a deep love for the outdoors where he enjoyed rafting and hiking with his family, friends and beloved dogs. He also found joy in bowling and especially cooking for everyone he loved. Above all, his greatest happiness came from spending time with his children and granddaughter. His love for them was unwavering, and he treasured every moment shared together.

He is survived by his children, Lexi (Brett Phelps) Patterson and Jackson (Payton Toliver) Patterson; his cherished granddaughter, Jade Phelps; his sister, Sarah (Doug) Pyle; his nieces, Taylor Hazel and Aubrey Jones; his dear friend Brian Calcaterra; and his beloved faithful companion’s Ester and Emma; and many other beloved family members and close friends who will deeply miss him and his unforgettable laughter.

William was preceded in death by his parents, George Ronald Patterson and Sue Ellen Hazel (Patterson), and his brothers, Justin Daniel Jones and Zack Vanausdoll.

In Loving Memory of Robert “Bob” Thompson

Robert “Bob” Thompson, age 77, of DeSoto, Illinois, passed away peacefully at his home on February 15, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Bob was born on January 18, 1949, in Carbondale, Illinois, the son of the late Delvin and Lucille (Edwards) Thompson.
On October 5, 1968, Bob was united in marriage to the love of his life, Marsha Kay Thompson. Together, they shared more than 56 wonderful years of marriage, building a life rooted in faith, family, and lasting friendships.

In his younger years, Bob operated Thompson’s Texaco on South Illinois Avenue in Carbondale alongside his brother. He later dedicated over 40 years of service to Vogler Ford. Bob was a proud member of the Carbondale Eagles #2569 and faithfully served his community as a volunteer firefighter for the Village of DeSoto.
Bob is lovingly survived by his children: Dean (Kelly) Thompson of Murphysboro, Jason (Debi) Thompson of DeSoto, and Angie Thompson (Trey Ford) of DeSoto; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; his brother, Jim (Jan) Thompson; and his sister-in-law, Jo Ann Thompson.

He was preceded in death by his parents his wife Marsha Kay Thompson and his brother, Gene Thompson.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home in Carbondale, Illinois. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Steve Marriott and Pastor Joe Wagner officiating with interment to follow at Murdale Gardens of Memory in Murphysboro.

Kenneth Edward Johns
Kenneth Edward Johns, aged 95, passed away on February 14, 2026, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, Illinois, surrounded by his loving family.
Ken was born on March 7, 1930, in Hurst, Illinois, the son of the late John and Jessie (Freeman) Johns.
Ken was known for his story telling, dry wit, and his words of wisdom readily dispensed. He spent 40 + years of his career in the insurance claims adjusting business.
In his younger years, he loved playing basketball and baseball and the freedom of running around his small hometown with friends. He learned to play the trumpet, inspired by bands of the time. Ken graduated from Hurst-Bush High School in 1948.
On December 25, 1948, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Earline (Plumlee) Johns. Together they shared more than seventy-seven years of marriage, built on love, hard work and devotion.
Ken enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing cards, sharing stories, and gardening – especially tending to his tomato plants. He became a tomato grower extraordinaire he loved to share his bounty.
Ken will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Earline Johns; his children, Jan Caudell (Wil), and Brent Johns (Denise); his grandchildren, Justin Caudell (Carolyn), Christina Fite (Jonathon), Danielle Johns (Lee Bristol), Nicholas Johns, Brandon Johns, and Alexa Johns; and his great-grandchildren, Brynn, Brett, Ryan, Charlotte, and Beau. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends that have been a blessing to him and his family.
Ken loved the Lord and was thankful every day for the life he was blessed to live.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at First Christian Church in Hurst, Illinois. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 noon with Reverend Greg Parker officiating. Interment will take place at Blairsville Cemetery.

Herman Dexter Pinkston – Pomona

On Thursday January 29th, 2026, the Lord called one of his best good ol’ boys home. Herman Dexter “Dee” Pinkston, passed away in the company of a dear friend of his. He was born on November 7th, 1962, in Murphysboro Illinois the son of the late Charles and Violet (Ellis) Pinkston. He was raised in and lived out his life in Pomona Illinois, nestled amongst the nature he loved.

He is survived by many loved and cherished members of his Chamness Care family where he spent over three decades dedicating his heart to caring for others. Survived also by many nieces & nephews, great nieces & nephews, great great nieces & nephews, cousins, fishing buddies, drinking buddies, as well as many other extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his mother Violet & father Charles “Bud” Pinkston. His beloved big brother Charles “Butch” Pinkston, and his dearly loved sisters; Martha K. Pinkston, Georgia E. Jolly, Charlotte A. Boone & Tiny Pinkston.

Tamela “Tammy” Renee Inchcliff, 57, of Vergennes, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home on December 27, 2025, surrounded by the love of her devoted family.

Born March 2, 1968, in Murphysboro, Illinois, Tamela was the beloved daughter of Charles Richard Fruits and the late Lena Pearl (Ellis) Fruits. On December 12, 1987, she married her soulmate, Dennis E. Inchcliff, Hurst, Illinois. Together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering partnership, celebrating more than 38 years of marriage.

Tammy’s heart was as big as her spirit was mighty. She had an extraordinary love for animals—rescuing and adopting every stray that crossed her path—and a special passion for horses, which she groomed and cared for with gentle expertise over the years. She cherished the outdoors, delighting in long walks through the woods in search of morel mushrooms. Yet above all, her greatest joy and pride were her husband Dennis and her cherished family. Though small in stature, Tamela was a towering force of strength, kindness, and love.

She leaves behind a legacy of warmth and devotion in the hearts of: her loving husband, Dennis E. Inchcliff of Vergennes; her daughters, Dusty (Cornelius) Cavett of Vergennes, Tiffany (David) Melvin of DuQuoin, and Raven (Luke) Fager of Elkville; her father, Charles Fruits; her adored grandchildren, Lawrence, Jaylia, Kacen, Aonnah, David, Carter, Rylee, Alexis, Issaac, and Dalton; her precious great-grandchildren, Amila, Daxton, and Aemon; her siblings, Calvin Fruits, Pearl Clutts, and Alisa Jane Cooper; as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.

Tammy was preceded in death by her mother, Lena Pearl Fruits; her father -in-law, Floyd “PeeWee” Inchcliff; her sister-in-law, Cheryl Fruits; her cousin, Connie Smith; and her dear best friend, Kate Norris.

A Celebration of Tammy’s remarkable life will be held at a later date, to be announced by the family.

Ronald D. Halleran, 65, of DeSoto, Illinois passed into eternal rest on December 19, 2025, at City of Hope Hospital in Zion, Illinois.
Ronald was born on September 18, 1960, in Herrin, Illinois, the son of Jackie M and Charlotte (Leeds) Halleran.
Ronald was a self-employed sawmill operator, logger, farmer, and trucker.
Ronald loved hunting, fishing, and his animals. He especially loved riding his mules through the mountains.
He is survived by his son, Cody Halleran and wife Heather of Pomona; mother; Charlotte Halleran of DeSoto; brother; Jim and Donna Halleran of Pittsburg; Jack Halleran of De Soto; Roger Halleran of Waltonville, Robert and Kathy Halleran of Royalton; sisters; Elizabeth Todd of Murphysboro; Cathy and Thom Grasher of De Soto; grandchildren; Beau Dean, Haylynn and Amberlee Halleran of Pomona; many loving nieces and nephews , great friends, and his beloved mule Nellie.

Burial will be at Blairsville Cemetery in Blairsville, Illinois immediately following service.

Conner Michael Andrew Shaw, age 11, of DeSoto, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2025.
Born in Carbondale, Illinois, on March 14, 2014, to Blake T. and Cori B. (Shaw) Moon, Conner brought boundless joy to everyone he met. He had a radiant smile that could light up any room and a compassionate heart, he was always ready to lend a hand. Curious and creative, he possessed an insatiable thirst for knowledge and delighted in sharing his imaginative designs. Conner was never shy about expressing his feelings, wore his heart on his sleeve with honesty and warmth.

Though his passing leaves an irreplaceable void in the lives of those who loved him, we find comfort in celebrating the profound impact he had in his short time here. Conner made the world brighter for everyone around him, and we are forever grateful for the love, laughter, and light he shared.

He is survived by his loving parents, Blake T. and Cori B. Moon; his sister, Sadie E.
