I’m reading "A Liberated Mind, How to Pivot Towards What Matters" by Steven C. Hayes. The most interesting quote that stands out to me so far is, “Research shows that meditation is most fruitful when practiced to with the aim to build flexibility skills, not as an escape from the pressures of life and a way to try to suppress feelings."

If you are having trouble in your relationship, ensuring your relationship with yourself is strong is a good idea. The more you love and can forgive yourself, the easier it will be to be loving and forgiving in your relationship. The more you love yourself, the easier it will be for someone else to love you.

I think of this quote a lot when I am facing a problem. It is an interesting variation of reminding ourselves to focus on what we can control instead of what we can't. I find it reminds me to take action when I am beginning to worry. If you can fix a situation, why worry about it? Just fix it.

This quote by Victor Frankl has always been very immportant to me. I really believe it is a stepping stone to building a better life for ourselves.
If we can train ourselves to pause before reacting when things in our lives are not challenging. Then when we find ourselves in challenging times, we will be more likely to think before we act.
This ability to pause can be especially important in our relationships.
