Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging (DITI or Thermography) is used for detecting muscular/skeletal, vascular and nervous system irregularities, compensatory issues, stroke and inflammation screening, monitoring injury or chronic disease and much more.
Thermography is a noninvasive tool that uses an infrared camera to produce images (thermograms) that show the patterns of heat and blood flow on or near the surface of the body.
Thermography is helpful in detecting new or unusual areas of activity that may lead to inflammation or may already have lead to inflammation. Thermography is not a substitute for regular mammograms and should not be used in place of mammography for breast cancer screening or diagnosis. Many women choose to use thermography screening because it does not require invasive radiation exposure. Thermography screening may be done as frequently as needed without the exposure to radiation of breast tissue.
Always follow your health care provider's recommendations for additional steps to diagnose breast cancer such as a clinical breast exam, other breast imaging (for example, breast ultrasound or MRI), or breast tissue biopsy.
For more information on scheduling a breast thermography screening you can call (337) 565-9105 to speak to a breast thermography screening specialist.
