I’m in search of a living kidney donor for my nephew. He’s 25 and was born with Bartter Syndrome.

Nathaniel still needs a kidney. He received a kidney transplant in June. We were excited and so grateful to the donating family. However, his body started rejecting it within 2 or so weeks. The medical team was able to treat this. However, after several more weeks and lots of testing, the bottom line is the transplanted kidney is not performing as expected. He will mostly likely be placed back on the transplant waiting list in the next few weeks. He is still searching for a kidney. Once he’s officially back on the list we’ll do an update.

Lots of ups and downs on this journey. Struggling with rejection, but thankfully it was caught early. We’re working with Nathaniel’s team of doctors to make adjustments and hopefully stop the rejection. I want to thank everyone for their prayers and continued support. At this point he’s still considered to be in stage 5 kidney failure. We’re praying those numbers turn around soon.

Back at the transplant center for a few nights…just doing some tests on the transplanted kidney.

I finally got a new kidney y’all. I’m sore right now but doing great. Thanks to everyone that has supported me through the years and in recent months. I appreciate and love y’all. I have a second chance at a long thriving life. Surgery went well without complications except for having some low blood pressure readings.

Urgent prayer request: Nathaniel just received a call from UVA. We’re on our way to get a kidney! They’ll being transplanting it tonight if all goes well!

We started the process be to multi-listed with another hospital. Now we’re waiting for the board to approve the request. The location of this hospital may be more convenient for some potential donors, so let us know through direct message if you would like information on how to make a direct organ donation. We’re still hoping for a living donor.

We’re still looking. I’m comeating my 3rd urine study now. First, I given the wrong container from the lab, total accident. Then the results were not great on the second. I missed the directions about strenuous physical activity probably threw the numbers a tad out of whack. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I due want to thank everyone else who is going through the process right now! 🙏🏻

A huge thank you to the few people who have started the screening process! We are still continuing to look until we have a match. Nathaniel is continuing to forestall dialysis at this time with weekly infusions and continuing lab work, that is not showing any significant improvement or any improvement at all.

We met with the surgeon today for the pre-op appointment for the peritoneal catheter. However, we’re still trying a few more options to support Nathaniel’s kidneys as long as possible before moving forward with dialysis. Still hoping to find a match before it becomes necessary. Thank you to everyone who’s been sharing the word.
