Thank You, Volunteers! 🙌

This National Volunteer Week, we’re celebrating the many volunteers and community groups who help bring our Home to life.

From the Masons Home-style breakfasts and American Legion bingo to VFW ceremonies, birthday parties, and time spent in the gift shop—our volunteers create moments our residents look forward to and truly enjoy.

We’re also grateful for those who share their talents through music, and for the support of local churches, schools, and community members who spend time connecting with our residents.

And we especially love seeing volunteers of all ages—including our little volunteers—bringing smiles and joy to those we serve.

These partnerships reflect the strength of our community and the meaningful connections that make our Home so special.

🍀 March is National Social Work Month! 🍀

As we celebrate National Social Work Month and World Social Work Day on March 17, we want to recognize the incredible impact social workers have on the lives of residents, families, and care teams in long-term care.

Social workers play a vital role in advocating for residents, supporting families through important transitions, and helping ensure each person’s voice, dignity, and personal story remain at the center of their care. Their work truly reflects this year’s theme: “Uplift. Defend. Transform.”

While we’re proud of the collaboration and support our team provides every day, we’re currently looking to add a dedicated Social Worker to our Home to help continue strengthening that support for the Veterans we serve.

🌟 We're celebrating Healthcare HR Week (March 16–20)! It's a time to recognize the human resources professionals who support the people behind the care. From recruiting and onboarding to supporting employees and strengthening our teams, HR plays a vital role in helping our Homes provide the best possible care for our residents.

Today we’re highlighting Christina Theriault, HR Manager, whose work goes far beyond her desk. Christina is an active part of our Home community—whether she’s helping make the holidays special during our Christmas celebration, joining in the fun for Halloween trick-or-treating, spending time with residents at our Chick-A-Dees Bird Club, or supporting staff in her role each day.

Her involvement reflects the spirit of teamwork and connection that makes our Home such a special place. Thank you, Christina, for the many ways you support both our residents and our staff.

Today we’re proud to recognize our Administrator, Melissa Graham.

Melissa joined our team in 2010, and has consistently demonstrated remarkable strength in leadership, guiding with compassion, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to our residents and staff.

Melissa said it best herself during her recent speech commemorating our 35th Anniversary: "Caring for those who serve is not a slogan. It's a promise to our Veterans and to the people they love. Our team lives that promise every day."

Those words reflect the heart of Melissa's leadership and the values she brings to her work every day.

Long-term care administrators carry a wide range of responsibilities, often working behind the scenes to ensure everything runs smoothly for residents, families, and staff. From navigating regulations and operational challenges to supporting employees and shaping culture, their leadership plays a critical role in enabling the best possible care outcomes.
