A typical funeral service may include a viewing before the actual funeral and the funeral can be followed by a burial service at the gravesite. The on-site crematory offers direct cremations, which are cremations without a ceremony. Or you can choose cremation with a funeral before the cremation or a memorial service after the cremation. For a casual, less-formal option, a life celebration may be the option for you. Life celebrations may include music, dancing, hobby displays, and a customizable program layout. Today we honor the life of Dee Delp, 90, of Carlisle. Dee worked as a crossing guard for Carlisle Borough and as a florist for George’s Flowers. She was an active member of the former Grace United Methodist Church and was involved with the United Methodist Women. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Today we celebrate the life of Mildred "Millie" Bannon, 77, of Carlisle. Born October 13, 1948, in Hoboken, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Mildred (Talbot) Smith. Millie graduated high school in 1966 and was employed by the Navy Depo in Mechanicsburg as an administrative professional for over 25 years. She will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Today we celebrate the life of Melissa Jane Wilbur Morgan, 41, of Carlisle. Melissa was a 2002 graduate of Blue Ridge High School, where she participated in soccer, softball, cheerleading, and color guard. Growing up, Melissa was deeply involved in Girl Scouts of the USA, earning both the Silver Award and Gold Award. She maintained a lifelong connection to Girl Scouts and was a devoted supporter of Camp Archbald, where she volunteered through her college years. Melissa devoted her professional life to public service and advocacy. She served as Assistant State Director for the National Federation of Independent Businesses from 2021 to 2026. Prior to that, she worked for the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors from 2008 to 2021 as a Legislative and Policy Analyst, where she earned the respect and admiration of colleagues across the Commonwealth. She will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.

Today we honor the life of Rodney Garner. He was employed by the Borough of Carlisle for 42 years, and truly cared for the guys that worked for/with him. He was a member of the Union Fire Company, The Moose Lodge and the Fraternal Order of Eagles of Carlisle. His favorite things to do were hunting, bass fishing, being in the mountains, camping and cutting wood. He will be greatly missed.

Join us in celebrating the life of Ruth Heath who was 100 years old. In her younger years, Ruth enjoyed fishing and quilting. She also enjoyed spending her winters in Arizona. She loved dogs, hummingbirds, and bird watching. She will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Join us in honoring the life of Gladys Brehm, 96, of Carlisle. Gladys went to Carlisle High School where she was a member of the marching band and graduated in 1946. A natural caregiver, in 1948, she completed her Licensed Practical Nurse training at one of the first nurses training classes at the Carlisle Hospital on Parker St, Carlisle. Retiring at age 70, she had a successful 50-year career working at the Carlisle Hospital and Alliance Nursing Home. With her patients, she was kind, compassionate, and nurturing yet approached their care with a resolute firmness. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Today we honor the life of Lieutenant Colonel Robert Handly. Robert graduated from Trenton State College and entered the US Army in 1967. His 22 years of military service included time at Fort Shafter, HI; Fort Bragg, NC, Vietnam, Fort Dix, NJ; HQ 28th Division, the PA Army National Guard and the Army Reserve in Harrisburg, PA. During his military service Robert earned a Bronze Star, the Vietnam Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. He earned an MBA from Shippensburg University and retired from civil service with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in 2005. We thank him for his service to our country.

Join us in celebrating the life of Ronald Tanger, 88, of Boiling Springs. Ron graduated from Boiling Spring High School in 1955. He then continued his education and became an electronics technician, later becoming the owner of Tanger’s Appliance from 1986-2011. Ron was a member of AOPA (Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association) and loved flying his airplane. He was a lifetime member of Otterbein United Methodist Church in Boiling Springs. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Join us in celebrating Randolph Lee Ramsey, 81, of Carlisle. Randolph loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, the races at Williams Grove Speedway, tractor pulls at Shippensburg Fairground, and watching western movies. He was a Transmission Technician at Lupfer’s Transmission for 25 years. He will be missed.

Today we honor the life of Dorothy Orris, of Carlisle. A 1961 graduate of Big Spring High School; Dottie also retired from the Big Spring School District as the Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent. While she was able, her most memorable experiences occurred while spending her summers at any beach she could be on with either friends or her large family that she cherished. For the past 14 years she treasured time spent with her only granddaughter making crafts and memories together. Dottie’s fellow residents at Carlisle Skilled Nursing and Rehab while there for rehab. Dottie was a Past Madam President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie #1299, Carlisle. She was known by many as a consultant for Henn Workshops; and, her beautiful flower arrangements Designs by DottieO. She will be deeply missed!
