I have not had time to share much this past year! I am now a Hybrid Audiologist for Virsono Hearing Center. I get to go into the clinic a couple times per month to still practice my hands-on skills. And I get to partner with the most amazing ear physicians like Dr. Ronan Nazarian and Dr. Martin Hopp. I am a pretty lucky human to have landed in this neat world of telehealth and in-person care. Absolutely love my team and company. I am so blessed and promise to share more often about what it is like in my new role. Hearing Aid Lab Makeover
Yesterday I visited a clinic that needed some storage and organization solutions. There has not been a provider there in a little while so we are getting it ready to see patients again We mounted storage drawers and found some existing organizers and set this clinic up for success. The pic where you can't see the floor was after we pulled everything off the bench. We threw a lot of stuff away and started fresh. I also took another couple of hours to completely redo the provider's computer station and set up dual monitors and relocated the real ear system. It was so satisfying. Always remember to take before and afters to reflect on your hard work!

I made delicious Persimmon Cookies for the patients this week. Nothing like the taste of home around the holidays. Make sure you are practicing good communication strategies around loved ones with hearing loss:
1. Get their attention first
2. Face them while speaking
3. Don't cover your mouth or eat while talking
4. Make sure there is good lighting
5 Speak clearly and concisely
6. If asked for repetition ("what?") repeat once and then change your words after this for possible better hearing range
7. Check-in with loved ones so they don't fall behind in conversation: "Mom, did you hear that? AJ is getting his white belt next week!"

If you are looking for a unique way to engage with the public about ears, I highly recommend the stand alone ! Get the kind that does not plug into your phone, no app required. Great picture quality and long lasting battery! These lasted all day long! People love seeing inside their ears 😂. again, for donating two video otoscopes and extra specula!!

We have Vive VR trips through different regions like Paris and the Mediterranean. You will be hearing sounds and seeing the different sites, then the same experience through ears experiencing hearing loss.
