🌟 Big news about one of our amazing Joe Ebner Scholarship recipients, Bella! 🌟

This summer at the CCA Retreat in Seattle, we had the privilege of sitting on a panel with the women from Kenzie’s Camp, talking about the power of fostering independence through camp experiences. Even though we met them for the first time in early June, they wasted no time in extending a scholarship for Bella to attend their camp in Connecticut this August.

She embraced the opportunity wholeheartedly—pushing her boundaries, establishing independence, and making new friends along the way. 💪💛

We’re so proud of her journey and grateful to Kenzie’s Camp for making it possible.

✨ We are thrilled to announce a very special guest performance at our 15th Anniversary Gala — Matt Kern, a 15-year-old musician from Reading, PA! 🎶

Matt has been playing music since the age of nine, and we’ve been fans ever since we heard him perform at the Retreat several years ago. He plays in his school band, contributes his talents to local pit orchestras, and performs regularly at community venues. On top of that, Matt writes and records his own original music — which he’ll be sharing live at the gala! (You can also find his music on Spotify and Pandora!)

Matt is not only an incredible performer but also such a positive, authentic person within the craniofacial community, and we are so lucky to have him as part of our celebration. He is also one of this year’s Joe Ebner Scholarship Recipients! 🌟

Back-to-school season is here! 🍎

It’s always a mix—excitement for new adventures and friendships, plus butterflies about the unknown.

Spent some quality time on Saturday participating in “Bridges and Pathways”, a Resource Fair for individuals with orthopedic impairments, brain injury and other significant health impairments.

The event is designed to create connections for youth, their families and other community members with valuable resources, services and support networks.

Discussed our growing psychosocial offerings with some great families & organizations…and even met some special service dogs!

More often than not, people who cross paths with ConnectMed end up feeling like family. ❤️

We’re so proud to celebrate as he begins his journey in medical school at UCSF! 🩺🎉

Chris first joined us in 2020 as a college student—learning about ConnectMed through Dr. Gosman, his surgeon throughout much of his childhood. Even during those early days (when we couldn’t meet in person yet), he jumped right in, supporting research projects, psychosocial programs, galas,
and more.

Over the years, Chris has connected with families, mentored younger patients, and learned to share his own story and challenges. Now, he’s on his way to becoming a plastic surgeon—using his own experiences to inspire and care for the next generation. 💙

We couldn’t be prouder, Chris. 👏
