Girl Scouts of San Diego
ConnectMed is proud to be a Girl Scouts of San Diego Community Partner. We are honored to be the only organization who provides local Girl Scouts the opportunity to earn the Ability Awareness & Inclusion Badge. We recently hosted 72 Girl Scouts, parents and troop leaders for a badge-earning event, held at the GSSD Balboa Park Leadership Center. Participants learned skills for including others and ability awareness through games, art activities and small group play.
Ability Awareness means focusing on what somebody can do, not what they can’t. Inclusion is the idea that we appreciate each other, that we see each other’s gifts and that we value being together; it’s the right to belong, whether or not disabilities are a factor.
