The Electro-Acuscope and Myopulse Therapy System is the only FDA approved microcurrent modality with biofeedback modulation. The Acuscope and Myopluse were originally created for human use 35 years ago and have since been specially calibrated for animal tissue. The Electro-Acuscope/Myopulse Therapy System is approved for neuro-muscular, musculoskeletal, pain management and an increased healing rate of up to 50%. The micro-current is delivered in micro amps, which are electronic signals similar to and compatible with those produced naturally within the body, meaning the body is able to recognize and respond to the current. What separates the instruments from other micro-current modalities is the unique biofeedback system. They provide auditory and numerical readouts which indicate where the tissue is damaged. It can determine both acutely damaged areas with excessive heat and fluid, as well as chronic conditions where the tissue is in an energy depleted state. The instruments monitor the treatment site and only deliver the amount of current that is needed at that time. The first instrument in the therapy system is the Electro-Acuscope which primarily addresses the central nervous system and opens the neuro-pathways within the body. The alternating current provides indirect access to tendons, muscles, ligaments and bony areas. The acuscope is able to pinpoint areas that are abnormal within the electrical circuitry of the body, locating where the damaged tissue and nerve cells are and then decipher whether or not the cells are deficient (meaning chronic) or hyperactive (or acute). The acuscope then normalizes the level of current within the cell. Similar to how a defibrillator uses electricity to jump start a heart, the Electro-Acuscope uses micro-current to recharge cells, restoring cellular function thus jumpstarting the healing process and reducing pain. During the treatment, the Electro-Acuscope is reading the electrical conductivity of the body, the resistance (or the cells capability to hold a charge), any blockages within the electrical circuitry (such as scar tissue or inflammation) and the chemistry of the cell (specifically the sodium and potassium levels within the cell). The Acuscope increases ATP production and protein synthesis, or energy production and waste elimination. Followed up by the Electro-Myopulse, the therapy becomes a total body system for treating pain and injury. The Myopulse has direct access to all soft and connective tissues (muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and periostium). The Myopulse normalizes the electromagnetic field that surrounds the connective tissue. The instrument can then detect whether the muscle is in an over-firing (as in spasm) or under-firing state (as in atrophy). The Myopulse sends in corrective signals and then checks to see if it has normalized the area. The instrument uses the “law of requisite variety” meaning it will continue trying different approaches until one of them works.
