This past Monday, January 12th, Andrews Athlete led a comprehensive hands-on training and education session with the Miami Marlins Athletic Trainers at their facility.

The seminar was led by Dr. Rod Walters, DA, LAT, ATC, National Director of Athlete Safety, with support and product education provided by Luis Derosa, Account Manager for SAM Medical.

Athletic trainers gained advanced experience using a wide selection of Hartwell Medical FASPLINT® and EVAC-U-SPLINT® products, along with a variety of SAM Medical Splints, reinforcing best practices in immobilization and emergency response. Dr. Walters covered critical topics including airway management, splinting and immobilization, and other advanced technical processes essential for on-field and sideline care.

The session concluded with hands-on simulations and skills station labs, emphasizing a variety of athletic trauma assessment protocols designed to mirror real game-day emergencies. A collaborative and impactful day dedicated to advancing education, preparedness, and athlete safety.

Scary moments on the opening lap of the 2026 Super Motocross Series in Anaheim last Saturday night. We’re relieved to share the good news that Justin Barcia is okay following a frightening crash that initially raised concerns of a serious injury.

The Alpinestars medical crew responded quickly and professionally, carefully assisting Justin off the track using the Hartwell Medical CombiCarrierII to ensure his safety and stabilization.

Justin later shared a positive update on his condition, and like the entire racing community, we are incredibly thankful.

From all of us at Hartwell Medical, we wish Justin a full and speedy recovery. 💪🏽🏁

Keep an eye out for little ghouls crossing the street, stay aware of your surroundings, and make sure those costumes don’t block your vision or mobility.

A little caution helps keep the holiday fun for everyone. Whether you’re dressing up, handing out candy, or heading into the night for your own adventures, we encourage everyone to keep their wits about them. After all, when the lights flicker and you hear footsteps echoing down an empty hallway… it’s probably nothing. Probably.
