Director of Nursing (DON) – Home Health & Hospice
📍 Carlsbad, NM

We are seeking a strong, experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead clinical operations for our growing home health and hospice agency. This is a leadership role for someone who is confident in both patient care and regulatory compliance, and who can support and guide a multidisciplinary team.

This position plays a key role in ensuring quality patient care, staff oversight, and compliance with all state and federal regulations.

Responsibilities:

* Oversee daily clinical operations for home health and hospice services
* Ensure compliance with Medicare, state, and federal regulations
* Supervise and support nursing staff (RNs, LPNs, HHAs)
* Review documentation for accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
* Participate in QAPI/QAPI initiatives and performance improvement
* Coordinate with physicians, case managers, and interdisciplinary team members
* Assist with staff education, training, and competency validation
* Support admissions, recertifications, and care planning as needed

Requirements:

* Active RN license (New Mexico or compact state)
* Minimum 1 year experience in home health and/or hospice (required)
* Strong knowledge of Medicare regulations and Conditions of Participation (CoPs)
* Experience with clinical documentation and compliance standards
* Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
* Strong organizational and communication skills
