⚡ 2. Stress shuts down the prefrontal cortex. This is the part of your brain that helps you reason, plan, and stay calm — and it goes offline when you’re in fight, flight, or freeze.
That’s why logic and pep talks don’t work when your brain feels unsafe. To truly recover, you have to calm the brain first, not just the mind.
