Karl J. Hapcic, MD, DDS

Maxillofacial, Hand & Reconstructive Plastic Surgeon Dr. Karl Hapcic arrived in Carlsbad to join Pecos Valley Physician Group in early 2023.

Dr. Hapcic is a board certified surgeon who brings over 30 years of experience in a variety of surgical specialties. He earned his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Hapcic has completed residency training in oral-maxillofacial surgery and plastic surgery. He is a member of the Medical Staff at Carlsbad Medical Center, practicing at the Surgery Group of Carlsbad. Services offered include:

• Trauma surgery: maxillofacial trauma, orbital fractures, nasal fractures, upper and lower jaw factures
• Hand Trauma Surgery including: metacarpal fractures, tendon repair, tendon transfer, skin grafts/flaps, nerve repair,
• Elective Hand Surgery for: Trigger Finger, Dupuytren’s contracture, De Quervain's management, Carpal Tunnel, Skin Cancer removal and reconstruction
• Skin Cancer Surgery: excision of skin cancer with node biopsy, Melanoma excision, repair of complex defects of the face following skin cancer removal

The Eddy County Health Council is hosting a Community Listening Session focused on behavioral health in Eddy County on January 14th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The session will be held at Southeast New Mexico College Gym, 1500 University Drive, Carlsbad, NM.

This event provides an opportunity for service providers, community members, and stakeholders to share perspectives on strengths, challenges, and solutions within our local behavioral health system.
