This Scoliosis Awareness Month, we want to share Bridget’s story, a remarkable 13-year-old from Louisville, KY, whose determination is truly inspiring. Despite facing scoliosis, with a 68-degree curvature in her spine, Briget refused to let it dampen her passion for dance.

With unwavering support from her family and the skilled team at Norton Children’s Hospital, Bridget underwent a transformative surgery with the 7D FLASH Navigation System™, a first in the state.

We’ve entered into a commercial partnership with MRIguidance to distribute its BoneMRI™ imaging software in the U.S. as well as the successful completion of the world’s first eight spine procedures using BoneMRI technology with the 7D FLASH™ Navigation System.

MRIguidance’s BoneMRI software enables and complements the 7D FLASH Navigation System to create a synthetic CT from an MRI to offer a radiation-free pre-operative imaging and intra-operative navigation workflow for patients and the surgical team.

“Our team is passionate about optimizing clinical workflows and reducing radiation exposure to improve patient care and physician safety,” said Dr. Beau Standish, President of Global Enabling Technologies at Orthofix. “In addition to removing the need for pre-operative radiation, this collaborative innovation also minimizes the number of pre-operative scans down to just one, saving the healthcare system both time and money.
