Today is the last day to come in to our office and sign a request to transfer records. Please do so BEFORE 3pm, in order to give staff time to process the request. We will only be transferring records to other medical facilities today; we WILL NOT be printing records due to time constraint. After today, you must access your child's medical records through Morgan Records Management:

Next WEDNESDAY, May 31st will be our last day in operation.

Please, if you have not done so, stop by the office to fill out a records request form as soon as possible. Remember, after May 31st, you will have access to your child's medical records only through www.morganrecordsmanagement.com

ALLERGY SHOTS for the last week we are open will be given at 8am on Wednesday, May 31st.

Just a few things we'd like to clarify about Raney Pediatrics closing:

For some reason, there is confusion about our closing date, which is MAY 31st NOT March 31st.

You may follow Dr. Jedd to BCA, but in order to do so, you must fill out a records release form AT RANEY PEDIATRICS. The transfer will NOT take effect until Raney Pediatrics closes (5/31/23). Call the office if you'd like for us to fax/mail a blank records release form. Parents or legal guardians must fill out the transfer paperwork. Please bring your ID.

Dr. Jedd will be practicing only at the Carlsbad BCA office; he will not be at any of the BCA offices in neighboring cities/towns.

Existing patients will still continue to receive care AT RANEY PEDIATRICS through 5/31/23; please continue to call (575) 887-0530 to schedule appointments.

If you choose to transfer to a different healthcare provider other than BCA, please register at the office you chose first. You may fill out a request for records at the new provider's office, or here at Raney Pediatrics.

PLEASE REMEMBER if you transfer to a different office immediately, your child's records will be sent to the new provider as soon as possible. At that time, your child's profile will be deactivated at Raney Pediatrics and we will no longer schedule any appointments.

If you have any questions, feel free to call the office. We're open Mon-Thurs 8am-4:30pm (closed for lunch 12pm-1pm) and Friday 8am-12pm.

Dear Parents and Patients,
This letter is to inform you that Raney Pediatrics will not provide medical care after 5/31/23. Dr. Kent Raney and Jane Raney are retiring. Dr. Jedd Raney is being hired by BCA Pediatrics and will start there on 6/1/23. As such, you will need to find a new pediatrician/doctor by 5/31/23.
Enclosed is a list of other pediatric providers in the Carlsbad area. For the best continuity of care, please make your appointment with the physician of your choice at your earliest opportunity. With your written permission, I will send your new physician a copy of your medical records. Please stop by the office to sign an authorization for release of your medical records or call the office and an authorization will be mailed to you. You will need to return the authorization to our office so that medical records can then be forwarded to the new physician. Please make the first appointment with your new physician as soon as possible to ensure a smooth transition of your care. All patients wishing to follow Dr. Jedd Raney to BCA are welcome to do so, but MUST transfer records to BCA Pediatrics.
If you choose not to see any of the physicians on the enclosed referral list, you can also consult the New Mexico Medical Society for further options. If Pediatric care is needed after 5/31/23, but before a new health care provider is found, you should go to the nearest hospital emergency room.
The privacy and confidentiality of your medical records is important to us and my practice takes all reasonable and appropriate efforts to comply with federal and state regulations pertaining to medical records. If your medical records are not sent to a new health care provider by 5/31/23, the medical records will be stored online at Morgan Records Management, LLC. These records can be requested online by going to morganrecordsmanagement.com, then Patient Records Requests, then click Request My Medical Records. If you prefer, you can request them by email at medical@morganrm.com. Morgan Records Management's phone number is (833) 888-0061. In accordance with applicable state law, you may be charged for the copying and transmittal of the records. Also, there may be a transition period from when Raney Pediatrics closes to the time Morgan Records Management has access to my charts, but every effort has been made to ensure medical records will be sent where requested in a timely manner.
