June 6, 1944, 160,000 Allied troops landed along a 50-mile stretch of heavily-fortified French coastline to fight N**i Germany on the beaches of Normandy, France. General Dwight D. Eisenhower called the operation a crusade in which “we will accept nothing less than full victory.” More than 5,000 Ships and 13,000 aircraft supported the D-Day invasion, and by day’s end on June 6, the Allies gained a foot- hold in Normandy. The D-Day cost was high -more than 9,000 Allied Soldiers were killed or wounded -- but more than 100,000 Soldiers began the march across Europe to defeat Hi**er.

No matter how much time may pass, may we never forget those who gave all they had.

War. Possibly the worst of things. Regardless of the purpose or advantage or result, it is hard to imagine something else that can rob a family - a husband, a wife, a child, a father, a mother - of so much.

There a more stories than our soul can bare, but this is one - a tribute to Lt James Cathey - is one that captures so much, prompts so much thought and emotion.

But with great loss comes powerful reflections and inspiration.

The son of this US Marine, James Cathey Jr will turn 20 years old this year. He never met his hero, but has the honor of carrying his name.

For those I love, I will sacrifice.

"Greater love hath no man than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." -John 15:13

Pause this weekend, if only for a moment, and remember the many who have made the greatest sacrifice. Remember, too, their families - the fathers, the mothers, the sons, the daughters, the brothers, the sisters, the friends - who carry on with an empty chair at their BBQ.

Then reflect on how you live your life.
Live with empathy and grace.
Live intentionally.
Live with purpose to serve others.

On June 16, 2024 something very special happened.

My family took me out for Father's Day breakfast after church.

As we were walking in the door of Alpine Kitchen in McMinnville OR, a gentleman was coming out the door in a wheelchair wearing a veteran hat.

I was wearing my Warriors Together rain jacket.
He looked up, looked me straight in the eyes and said "We are Warriors Together."
I was caught off guard. He didn't know me.
I want sure what he said, so I kindly asked him to say again.
"We are Warriors Together."
Yes we are.

He affirmed the message I've been telling others, and I myself needed to hear that day.

Nothing happens by coincidence. There were celestial connections being made.
In the local community Facebook groups I know one of our followers posts a message of inspiration each and every day, with the hashtag. She lost a son to su***de so our message is strong with her.

I immediately sent her a message to thank her, because I believe it's her work that carries the message and awareness around that community in Oregon.

This is a snap of her response...
