With sadness, we announce the passing of Ruth Ann "Smokey" Schmitt. Smokey died on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 88 years of age.

Smokey and her husband Carroll were longtime owners and operators of Green Acres Campground in Keyesport. She will be dearly missed by her friends, family and fellow campers.

The McKendree Chapel Picnic is THIS SATURDAY! Come hungry and go home with a cake!

Mark your calendars 📆 for the McKendree Chapel Picnic! Saturday, August 30, at the McKendree Chapel Cemetery near Keyesport.
We'll be slinging cakes at the cakewalk once again! The cakewalk begins around 6 and can only happen with generous donations from viewers like you! There is also bingo, chicken dinners and other grilled items, fun games and prizes for the kids, and live music. We hope to see you there!
