I want to announce that Herb + Ivy Integrative Health, LLC will be officially closing its doors on April 21st, 2023. 🌱

It is with bittersweet emotions that I am closing Herb + Ivy down, but a new and exciting transition is ahead!

I want to personally thank you for either following my social media accounts, supporting me and my small business, or all of the above! It has been a beautiful experience and I am thankful for the journey. 💚

My social media accounts will remain active...although they may look a little different! I will be updating them from time-to-time with knowledge sharing of Acupuncture, Chinese Medicine, Integrative Health, Massage... or life updates in general!

Gua Sha (pronounced guāshā) is an ancient modality used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for helping with SO many issues from muscle aches and pain to fevers to mastitis!

⭐️The best ways to prepare for your Gua Sha session:

☑️ Wear appropriate clothes for the area you would like to receive gua sha...no worries if you forget some extra clothes... we can provide you with draping or a gown. 👕

☑️ Bring a set of warm clothes with you to cover your gua sha marks and avoid cold/windy environments afterwards. Coverage is key! 🔑

☑️ Eat a little something before your session 🍎 and drink plenty of fluids 💧 beforehand.

☑️ Most importantly, keep and open line of communication with your practitioner. We are here to help and want you to have a pleasant and comfortable session❣️

Gua Sha does not typically hurt, although there may be some discomfort. However, your practitioner will check in with you regularly and adjust to your needs accordingly!

It does leave therapeutic bruise-like marks on your body (somewhat similar to cupping marks). The process draws stagnated blood from the vessels to allow the body to replace it with fresh blood and increase circulation. These marks usually last approximately 3-5 days and vary from person to person.
