The Milk Depot & Express is officially open at Ascension St. Vincent Carmel. Recently, we welcomed our first donor, Jessica!

As both a Milk Depot and a Milk Express site, Ascension St. Vincent Carmel will serve as a collection point for approved donors of The Milk Bank to make donations of frozen breast milk and a distribution hub where parents and caregivers—both within the hospital and across the community—can purchase Pasteurized Donor Human Milk (PDHM).

As the only dual depot and express location in Hamilton County, this enhances local access for parents and caregivers, while also ensuring a more robust donor milk supply to meet critical neonatal needs across Central Indiana.

A first for Hamilton County - and it’s already making a difference!

Ascension St. Vincent Carmel is now home to both a Milk Depot and Milk Express site, thanks to our partnership with The Milk Bank. That means:

👶 NICU babies get the nutrition they need
🤱 Approved donors have a local place to give
🏥 Families across the region can access donor milk easier

With nearly 200 ounces donated since May, and over 43,000 ounces system-wide since 2023, we’re building a healthier future, one ounce at a time.

Great news! 🎉 St. Vincent Carmel has partnered with The Milk Bank to serve as both a Milk Bank Depot and an Express site. This partnership provides families with a convenient location to drop off donor-approved breast milk or pick up purchased donor milk.
