What is that? Is it dangerous? Called Therapeutic Petechiae, for the average person this is not dangerous but the result of trauma to the capillaries that lay near the surface of the skin. During a massage this can happen via cupping, scraping (such as Graston or gua sha) and even my own hands can cause this. For most, it will go away within 2-7 days.

How do you manage your pain levels and injuries? I like to use a scale so I can track progress, improvements, and use the scale to have an understanding of how long my recovery may take.

Welcome to cupping. For some of you this is what it will look like. Mostly harmless and will go away after a week or so. It varies person by person. This session was interesting because I used stationary cups (non moving) on the left side first and massages the right side and then switched. As you can see both sides have a slightly different reaction. It could be one side has more tension and inflammation or it could be that stationary cups first reduce some tension first and then massage after cupping left lighter results versus massage first and then stationary. I’m. It really sure but it was great feedback. Saw the client four days later and most of the marks were either gone or barely visible.
