Sunday spa night with my youngest 🤍

For her eczema-prone skin, barrier repair every night is essential.

We use ceramides and moisturize immediately after bathing while the skin is still slightly damp to seal in hydration.

Lukewarm, never hot showers.

For her scalp, fully drying before bed matters more than people realize, especially for kids prone to seborrhea or dandruff.

The goal isn’t more products, it’s building good habits early!

What little routines or traditions do you do with your kids each week? 🤍

In honor of Medical School Match Day, 12 years ago today 🤍

We opened our letters together
and matched to opposite coasts

Derm in Miami, FL
Ortho in Irvine, CA

Not the plan we expected
but our dream specialties

4 years long distance
and our first daughter born in the first year of it

Now 15 years married

Not the path we imagined
but exactly where we’re meant to be now 🩷

Happy International Women’s Day!

I feel incredibly grateful to be raising two strong daughters and to come from a family of women who believed deeply in education and opportunity.

My grandmother spent her life living and working around the world advocating for women’s access to education. Because of women like her, and so many others who worked to expand opportunities for women, I feel incredibly privileged to have been able to pursue a career in medicine, become a dermatologist, and now open my own dermatology practice.

It has been especially meaningful to have my daughters come to the office and help as I build the practice. When my oldest was born, I was still a resident, and it’s amazing to think about how far that journey has come.

Watching them grow up reminds me how important it is to continue encouraging curiosity, confidence, and education in the next generation of girls.

Grateful for the women who paved the way and hopeful for the future these girls will build.

Fish might be the most underrated skin superfood 🐟

Omega-3 fatty acids help support the skin barrier, calm inflammation, and promote healthy hair, skin, and nails. I often recommend increasing omega-3 intake through diet or supplements for my eczema patients and for patients taking acne medications that can dry out the skin.

As a dermatologist, I often remind patients that skin health involves more than just skincare. Diet and overall health from within play an important role.

Elegance is not about chasing every trend.

It is about wellness.
Physical and mental health.
Confidence.

You do not have to do every treatment.
You do not have to change your face.

My role as a dermatologist is to guide, educate, and support you so you feel comfortable in your own skin.

That is the kind of beauty that never fades.

Why do so many patients tell me their skin improves when they travel abroad? Or lose weight despite eating all the pasta?

While I was in Italy recently, I understood why. I felt better. The food was fresher. Meals were simpler. The pace was slower. I walked everywhere.

And interestingly, this pattern isn’t just anecdotal. Studies show higher adherence to a Mediterranean-style diet is associated with lower psoriasis and eczema severity scores.

Extra virgin olive oil, legumes, leafy vegetables, fish, and a lower intake of ultra-processed foods are all components linked to reduced systemic inflammation.

Add natural sunlight, increased daily movement, and improved sleep, and the physiologic environment shifts.

Skin health reflects broader metabolic and inflammatory patterns within the body.

Have you ever noticed a change in your skin while traveling?

Are you noticing more hair shedding after starting a GLP-1 medication?

You are not alone.

Rapid weight loss, reduced calorie intake, and physiologic stress can trigger telogen effluvium. This type of shedding is usually temporary and does not mean permanent hair loss.

The good news
• It typically peaks around 2 to 4 months
• It often stabilizes
• There are ways to support regrowth

If you are on Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, or another GLP-1 and seeing increased shedding, comment “HAIR” and I will send more education on what actually helps.

Save this if you are on a GLP-1 or thinking about starting one!

Pre-Valentine’s refresh with a focus on soft structure and balance 🩷

I used Juvederm Voluma in her cheeks to restore support and gently enhance midface projection. Juvederm Volbella was used to soften vertical lip lines while preserving her natural lip shape.

The result is a subtle, lifted contour with a more heart-shaped facial balance and beautifully natural definition. 🩷
Can you spot the differences?

Winter changes how your skin responds to retinol. Cold air, indoor heat, and lower humidity can compromise the skin barrier, making irritation more likely even with products you normally tolerate well. A winter reset often means using retinol fewer nights per week, adjusting strength, and prioritizing barrier support rather than stopping treatment altogether.

If your skin feels dry, reactive, or out of balance this season, subtle adjustments can make a meaningful difference!

Does your skin need a reset right now?

Transformation Tuesday! This new mom wanted to look more refreshed and was bothered by deepening smile lines. Carefully placed hyaluronic acid fillers in the mid face can lift and transform the face! Here I restored volume loss from the mid face and it helped correct her nasolabial folds without needing to add significant amount of filler in this area which can often look unnatural. The result is a soft, feminine contour of the cheeks and a natural, refreshed appearance!

Filler Friday! 💉 This patient wanted to correct festooning of her undereyes and upper cheeks and overall appear more rested!

Festooning is usually caused by factors like sun damage, aging, and genetic factors. I started by using to correct volume loss in her cheeks and then used to correct her undereyes. I had her come back a few weeks later to add some additional volume to her cheeks and correct her nasolabial folds. Loving her stunning transformation! ✨
