It's a new era! Although I'm sad to give up the Name Wagging in Water Check out the brand new state of the art hydrotherapy studio! This clients mom called me and said her girl isn't walking properly. She informed me that her baby, Bailey, had a hip surgery one year ago on her left hind leg.
I thought I would be dealing with your typical improperly healed FHO with a need to break down scar tissue and restore passive range of motion. Upon my exam, turns out that hip is doing great! Unfortunately her right knee is not. It was beyond obvious to the touch and observation that her right knee cap is the issue here. You can see the difference in the way her legs move in the water.
Here is the biggest issue. Baileys mom brought her back to her primary vet a few times since the surgery. (Not the ortho who did the surgery) Her vet said nothing was physically wrong and the problem lies with the trainer who is not teaching her proper gate. According to her trainer the vet was adamant it was her fault. So Bailey has been in pain this entire time. I'm disgusted and frustrated for this family. Bailey will see a new vet and get X-rays, and will be seeing our ortho very shortly. Here's to better days Bailey.
