There are several things that we are doing to provide you with a service that is better than ever. We have a Green Dental practice. We are doing everything in our power to be kind to the environment and to your health. We are using biocompatible, BPA free materials whenever possible. We have an understanding of the toxins that exist in our materials and we are ready to educate you about the best p

roducts for your home care. We also installed a top of the line mercury filtration system so we can safely take out mercury fillings without polluting our environment. In addition, we are using reusable, sterilizable supplies wherever possible. Carmel Family Dental can now offer sleep dentistry with a board certified cardiac anesthesiologist. This is very unique because for the first time on the peninsula, phobic patients can get excellent dental care and top notch anesthesia monitoring all in one place. No need to worry about whether or not your dentist is qualified to monitor your sedation while taking care of your teeth. Carmel Family Dental is working hard to create an atmosphere that is not only comfortable and esthetically pleasing, but we are also building a team that will make you feel at home and treat you like family. It is our mission to provide the most excellent care and service in an environment where we have time to take care of you in a better way.

Today was a simple fix for such a lovely patient - direct composite bonding to fix a small chip on tooth number 9. No numbing and she was all fixed up in less than 1 hour. Her smile got bigger in the after photo! Easy peasy!

We are absolutely thrilled to welcome **Dr. Rania Melhem** as our new associate dentist at Carmel Family Dental! A native of Monterey, CA, Dr. Melhem graduated with honors in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry from NYU’s College of Dentistry in 2023 and has just completed a one-year general practice residency at NYU Langone Hospital in Brooklyn, NY.

Dr. Melhem is passionate about delivering personalized and compassionate care. She focuses on easing dental anxiety and building trust with her patients, ensuring they feel comfortable and confident during their visits. Fluent in both English and Arabic, with roots in California and Lebanon, Dr. Melhem brings a unique blend of cultural understanding and dental expertise to our team.

In her free time, she enjoys working out, going on hikes, and spending quality moments with her family, friends, and her adorable British Shorthair cat, Mikado. Please join us in giving Dr. Melhem a warm welcome to the CFD family!
